I haven't been on in a while because my son spilled water on my laptop about two weeks ago and now it won't work. Hmmphh. I'm going to wait another week with that, because someone told me that her son spilled soda on her laptop and it started working out of no where three weeks later. It's still under the 1 year warrenty, but I don't know if I have the reciept. Well, now the Public Housing Authority changed my interview to tomorrow and now I don't have a ride. I've asked a few people I know already over the past two weeks I've known this, but no one can or is willing to help. I called the helpline, but they told me they couldn't help me with transportation in my area. The bus doesn't come out this far, which I already knew. But anyway, I would have to walk 4 1/2 miles to get to the closest bus stop. And there aren't very many sidewalks out here. When I googled walking directions to the bus stop, it said to use caution and it will take 1 1/2 to get there walking. Plus I have my 17 month old son who would be in a stroller. I only have change now that's in a piggy bank. I don't have money for a taxi and I couldn't afford it anyway. My mother told me it would be about $60 at least to get to where I'm going with a taxi. I don't know what to do. I have to be at this appointment at 10:45 am TOMORROW!

1. Do you have friends/family that would pay for a taxi via credit card. They can be anywhere in the world. 2. I do not know what kind of shape you are in, but if you can, lace up your walking shoes and walk with the stroller. 3. Call the housing place and see if they can issue you a voucher for a taxi. 4. See if you can reschedule your appointment. 5. Explain your situation and see if they can do the appt via phone with any documents and signatures being transmitted by fax. Hope someone can help. Good luck.
Thanks for this!

There are many churches that will help individuals out in situations like this. Start making phone calls and see if they would be able to help you.

I'm sorry about the situation you are in.

Take good care!

Well, I actually called my father at the last resort the night before and he said would take me, but then he called back at 12:30am to ask me to call and try to reschedule in the morning, but he was acting like he would still do it if I couldn't get it rescheduled. So I did call and I waited on the phone on hold for 30 mins, then someone actually answered the phone and transferred me to the Public Housing intake person, who wasn't there. On the answering machine it said she'd be back the next day. So I called my father to tell him. And all he said was "did you reschedule it?" I said no and explained. And he just said "well, I guess you'll have to call back them tomorrow, bye." And he hung up. I was soooo mad at him and he sounded really creepy on the phone, like he was doing something wrong. I know it's best I don't see him, and I've known all my life I'd never be able to trust him or depend on him for anything, but he wasn't doing anything yesterday! And this was so important. I've been waiting to get into public housing for almost a year now and I can't afford to wait any longer. I only have $100! I need to get a job a.s.a.p. Well, I called another number that was on the letter they sent me with my appointment date and time on it. And that sent me to another answering machine, which said the offices were closed the 28th due to weather (? not sure why?). And it said that if you have an appointment on the 29th, then call before you come to make sure the offices were open. Well, this was the 31, but I'm wondering if maybe they were closed. I left a message to tell them I had to reschedule, because I couldn't find a ride with my name and number, so at least they have that on the record that I did call. I was gonna call back today, but I forgot. I had a lot of things to do. I was going to try to look into the churches for help. Someday I'll get around to it. I was hoping to go down to the church close by for Easter, since someone from the church came here the other day and gave us some bread and pamphlets. We were really hungry, so I saw it as a sign and a miracle. It was a very special day. =D

That is a great about you feeling good about your day. I would give housing another call because you do not want them to skip over you.
Thanks for this!

They just said they'll automatically schedule me for a second appointment, I couldn't reschedule it myself. But if I don't make the second appointment they'll take me off the list. The last time they gave me a second appointment, it was two months later, so I really hope this time it'll be sooner, because I can't afford to wait that long. I'm getting more and more desparate everyday.

Okay, I got a letter today for another appointment! It's in 2 1/2 weeks. I'm glad I didn't have to wait too long and I'll have time to find a ride.
