I've started to feel very weird and anxious when I think about being inside my own body. Usually I go on about my day and don't really think about it. But sometimes the whole concept of looking out my eyes at other people and I get paranoid. It's the oddest thing and I wonder if other people are conscious of this? Or wondering what it would feel like to be behind someone else's eyes or in their head.

Hi, gizmore, welcome to PsychCentral. Have you talked to your doctor about this, mentioned it to others in your day-to-day world?

I think a lot of the science fiction movies/books, etc. of today make wondering about such things something a lot of people do. Did you see Avatar? I think we'll be seeing mostly 3D shows like that in the future now.

(((Gizmore))), Im not sure, but this could be similar to some form of self realization. It can be quite overwhelming for some. It brings up so many questions like, what would I be if I had no body, did I exist before I was born, what happens to the me inside when my body dies, who am I and why am I here inside of me? Etc... I think its quite normal to ask ourselves these kinds of questions. It would be a great topic for you to bring up with a T or a close and trusted friend.

I've thought about what it would be like to be someone else, but not quite like this. I agree that you should talk with your doctor or therapist about these thoughts.
