Low self-esteem.

Why? I don't know.

It's certainly worth looking into. Talking about these important thoughts and emotions with a T will help you work through.

Best wishes!

I agree with Shezbut-- that it could be a lack of self confidence.

It's not healthy to compare oneself to others(it's hard sometimes not to, I know)..... it can be like poison in ones mind.

best to you

(((anne1000))) I think if we all grew up with the same life experiences, we'd all be very boring people. You have a unique life, the good and the bad experiences, and its what distinguishes you from every other person in this world. It sounds as though your life has molded you into a very sensitive and caring person. You are not inadequate although you may feel you are. You have alot you can share with others that may make their journey through life a little easier.

You may think that somebody else was better because they grew up on a farm but that does not mean that they share your feelings. My son has lived his whole life on a farm. I thought that would be a good thing but a few years ago my then teenage son said that he was ashamed for his friends to know he grew up on a farm. Don't assume that other people think poorly of you because of how you did or did not grow up. It likely doesn't matter to them as much as it does to you.

I didn't grow up on a farm but I can so relate to never feeling good enough!! You are not alone in feeling that way!

As of right now I feel fine, I keep trying to convince myself that I do not need therapy and that I can do this on my own...I also do not want to be on medication cause i was put on some meds for a while but i stopped taking them because of the side effects....should i seek out therapy even though today was a good day and I feel okay...? :/

anne1000, my thought is for you to ask your doctor to be referred to a psychiatrist for an evaluation. The psychiatrist will advise you whether she/he believes you would benefit from treatment. Your threads indicate you are in some distress. Why not give professional help a try?

Good luck.
