I just got home from local hospital. 7 1/2 week old granddaughter started having trouble breathing . Local hospital air lifted her to UVA......she has been there 4 times now in her short life. I am scared, but cannot go to UVA til tomorrow. NOT being there and NOT knowing what is going on is so hard ! Prayers again please for my sweet granddaughter !

Thanks for the prayers and support. I just talked to my son, they did no tests during night, as the baby was not cooperating (since when does a 7 1/2 week old baby have to cooperate to have tests done?????) Today they are supposedly going to test her for menengitis, and cystic fibrosis. She can have NO ONE in room, totally in isolation (except her Mother). I didnt sleep at all last night worrying, and now I cannot even see baby or d-in-law if I go up there. At a total loss as to what to do :-( Please keep my precious MacKenzie in your thoughts ! Thanks !!!

Again, thanks for prayers and postings ! Unfortunately, MacKenzie is still at UVA in isolation. They have gone from diagnoses of "nothing wrong with her", "possible menengitis (never did spinal tap)", "probable GERD", and this AM have said it seems to be something wrong with her trachea. Yesterday her oxygen level would drop to the 70's during a coughing spell, and the coughing has gotten much worse since I saw her Sunday. I am going bonkers - can't see her - and if her Mom comes out of the isolation room, she has to take a shower before going back in - so its not worth the trouble for her to come out of room to know anyone is there ! No one has told her when they are going to DO something to actually figure out what is wrong. I always thought UVA was a great place to be - but I now wonder. Yesterday ONE Doctor came in room the entire day. What a mess ! Son working all day, and then tries to stay awake when needed during night to allow Mom to get some sleep. WHY a precious innocent baby???

Dear Parker,
I have been thinking about you and I'm so sorry you and your family are going thru this. I can't imagine how hard it must be, but being a grandmother myself, I am with you in thoughts and prayers. This is so hard.
