I put this in general as it isn't attributed to any illness/disorder (to my knowledge).

I just cannot seem to get motivated to do anything. Primarily, it is because I don't feel well. Recently though even when I do feel good, I can't get anything done. I've tried all my tricks: setting a timer, picking up 5 things every commercial or computer break, etc. It's just not working. I find myself walking around in a daze, forcing myself to do little things like a load of laundry or put away clothes. Lethargic...thats what I am.

The worse I feel the house is, the worse I feel. It's downright overwhelming. My house was spotless in June! Not anymore. I really should be getting things ready for the visit from my in-laws over Labor Day weekend. Even the fear of my mother-in-law isn't motivation me (and it always used to work)!

I'm not taking any medicine except the hormones that my doc prescribed for my health problems. I am weening down on them. Oh, and I have to take advil with the medicine because it makes me ill (doc said that would happen). From 4 a day (8 Advil a day), to 3 a day (6 Advil a day), currently on 2 a day (4 Advil a day), next week to one a day like normal (no Advil). So far so good on that front...but I still worry.

School is starting in a little over a week. Mixed emotions about that...but its coming no matter what. I have a doctor's appointment Thursday and I am hoping to know more about what is wrong with me.

Any ideas? Suggestions? Maids willing to work for free? My get up and go has got up and went

I hope you feel better soon! Hormones can really make you tired and mess up your system for a while. Depression can do the same thing as well as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Now that I've thrown all those into the scenario, I can tell you I don't know which, if any, is causing the problem. (A lot of help, aren't I?) Talk to your Dr about all your symptoms. Push for an answer.

If any maids show up willing to work for free will you send one my way? My get up and go has got up and went

Feel better soon!

Jan

Thanks Jan. I plan on mentioning it to the doctor on Thursday, even though I am expecting her to tell me that I will need to take it up with my "family doctor" (I really should get one of those). Maybe when I can afford it. It's strange that the fewer hormones I take, the more lethargic I feel. I should have to be taking 4 times the "normal" dose to function, right? Maybe its Advil withdrawl.

Hubby is keeping a close eye on me regarding possible depression. He's already told me he'll make the appointment for me if he feels its necessary. It's nice that he cares. My get up and go has got up and went

Thanks for your suggestions. I will mention all of them to the doctor. ((((((((((Jan))))))))))

I seem to remember the doctor ordering a thyroid test. That's just a blood test right? They ran something like 15 tests when I went to get my bloodwork taken (according to the bill). I don't know if its the thyroid as I would assume the doctor would have said something (they said something about my high blood sugar when I called).

Right now, my goal is to get through my training session tomorrow and just maintain until Thursday.

Thanks for the suggestion Ozzie. I will mention it to her if she doesn't mention it first. lol

Erin, you might want to recheck that blood sugar. Even borderline diabetics, like me, can have variances enough to set off a "depressive" episode. Do you have a testing kit? You can usually get them for free from your insurance... if you have it.

What sometimes works for me is giving myself "permission" to take a short nap with the condition that I WILL do something when I wake up. Then I just put it on Auto Pilot. I don't think about what I'm doing or how long it's going to take me but I do try to imagine myself somewhere I really like to be. I've got a very vivid imagination! LOL

If that doesn't work for you, then just imagine me grunting for you when you do manage to get something going. LOL

My get up and go has got up and went I have a testing kit given to my by my hubby's aunt. It's older, but it works. I haven't been diagnosed as diabetic (I am trying to avoid it until I get health insurance) so I am trying to take care of it myself. I suppose I will start testing daily again. My finger already says ouch. You're right, I took a nap this afternoon and felt much better. Even did some laundry. Thanks for your suggestions!

((((((((((((Erin)))))))))))))),

I know when I get dehydrated, my blood sugar goes way high & just can't function. I end up feeling so awful that all I feel like doing is laying around & sleeping....of course, all my electrolytes are off too. I have found that if I go into the ER & they give me an IV with saline solution & sometimes potassium, I will feel better for a few days until it gets wacked out again. Forcing myself to function is difficult but there are times when I don't have a choice.

I don't know how your weight is, but eating properly (which I don't do either....so I shouldn't talk) also helps with my feeling better. When my weight is low & I am not eating much, my body just doesn't have the energy to function either.

Hope you can find the answer to why you aren't feeling well,
Debbie

((((((((((Jen)))))))))) ((((((((((Hope)))))))))) Thanks ladies. My get up and go has got up and went

((((((((((Tomi)))))))))) Today was ok. Been home about an hour all day. Went to school with my mother in the morning to help her. Came home ate lunch then went to a training meeting. Then met hubby at work for dinner. Have some more energy today. Don't know if I'll get much accomplished this evening. Maybe just a walk with my puppercini. My get up and go has got up and went

((((((((((Fuzzy)))))))))) I could definitely feel warm fuzzies urging me on today. I really appreciate your kind thoughts. You're a doll...well...a bear. A doll bear? My get up and go has got up and went

((((((((((eskie)))))))))) I wonder if my system was/is off. I've been dieting for a few weeks and this weekend I splurged more than I would like. I wonder if my body is just trying to tell me that it likes the old way. lol

Doc said my thyroid level was high (getting another set of tests done), which could be why I am so tired.

That among other things.

I guess it's good to know its not just me being lazy....I think I would rather it just be me being lazy.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
