For those of you who have been worried about me let me tell you that I did evacuate New Orleans on time. I am completely dependent on the kindness of strangers right now as this hurricane hit at a time when I was not doing well financially. However, there is a neat twist to this. I am staying with family of rock-n-roll artist Jerry Lee Lewis. Isn't that neat. I don't know what I am going to do. The future looks bleak, but deep inside I know that something will work out.

Bobby, I'm glad you are safe. I know "where" you are................ I lost everything* in Hurricane Andrew... only I went through the storm "knowing" I was going to die, just didn't know how... and then slept the next 3 weeks in the front yard, and then finally got into/under the garage roof for another few weeks... sigh anyway..... life for you has changed. I know you can't "embrace" it, but try and accept it... you can use it as a way to start all over again.. I hope. If you try and cling to what you knew as "life' before the storm, it will be tougher.
It's ok to let others help, they need to feel like they can help too, you know? It's frustrating to not be able to help... Again, I'm glad you got out... you did good! *everything.. but my spouse, dog, and my car (for when the roof pealed, the ceiling in the garage fell down in one piece and protected the car.. ) The spouse left... the car and I parted... but I still have the dog!
