I am declaring today Amnesty for All! day. As a humble member of PC, I want to pass on the idea that so many of us need to give ourselves a break!

So many of us, myself included, treat ourselves as we would never ever ever treat another. We definitely have darn good reasons for this, many of us were trained to carry so much hell, it is soaked into us it seems.

What if for one day we all took a deep breath and lived as if we are worthy. Worthy of respect and compassion. What if we lived as if we are not the evil creature we are sure we are? What if we moved past our beliefs that we are contaminated, that we contaminate others, that somehow we are badness incarnate?

What if we had a day of permission to simply be? Our wonderful selves.

We get to have all our feelings, it is okay.

We get to be human beings.
Messy, glorious, damaged, healed, confused, illuminated human beings.

We are all good enough.

We all have more than proved our right to exist, and we don't even need to prove it.

We all have a right to be here.
On the earth, in our lives.

We have the right to be here.

Sarah

Amnesty for All! Amnesty for All! Amnesty for All! Amnesty for All!

Sarah - you certainly do make some wonderful, thoughtful, inspiring posts !!! I think today is a great day to "be happy, don't worry".......if for just ONE day, we could all allow ourselves to do this, wouldnt it be wonderful to tell about it tomorrow? And once we have ONE day that we can all do this, perhaps those really hurting right now could decide "hey -I had one good day, I think I will try for 2". I am up for it ! Anybody else??????

We all, cause we are humans, have permission to give ourselves permission.

Amnesty for All!

By gifting ourselves with a minute, an hour, a day, however we define it, we are claiming what is already ours.

I noted a thought drifting through my mind that I was "bad" and I stayed gentle and compassionate with myself. I responded with an -Oh, there that is. No thanks Mom.-. I imagine myself waving a cheery bye-bye to related thoughts, they can just drift on away.

Just as if some unwanted sales person calls me at home, I pick up the phone, listen as long or as short as I want to, and firmly hang up when I wish. I go about my business. I can unplug the phone, use caller id, voice msging, anything I like.

When mean cruel thoughts call my my brain, I can make choices. I can sing out "Wrong number!" and move on to something else.

The right number is friendly, forgiving, grounded, and oh so human. I get to try things and even make mistakes, it is okay.
