Hello Everyone!

First of all, I would like to say that I miss all of you very much. I miss being here at PC, my home away from home so to speak. I think about all of you every single day and send you warm thoughts and prayers.

In hindsight, I should have posted about taking a break from PC before now. I'm sorry that I did not do that.

I have not "left" PC. I am merely taking a much needed and well deserved break for awhile. There are a couple of reasons for that....I have many responsibilities outside of PC in real life. Some things have come up that require more attention from me than they have in the past. I have family and friends and my job that need me, and in order to give them what I feel they need and deserve, I need to spend more time with them.

I have a very demanding job caring for an individual with developmental and physical disabilities. I love my job and I have high expectations of myself in performing my job. We live together and there is not a lot of time off for me. The time I do have off is then taken up with my family and friends and quite frankly for myself as well. I need to take care of me. If I'm going to try to sell the idea of self care, then I feel I must show myself that care as well. I have to walk the walk if I'm going to talk the talk

I have not had a vacation in over 2 years. I'm in desperate need of one and have planned a 2 week vacation to the UK in December. Taking time away from PC is in essence a bit of a vacation for me as well. I must refill the well in order to continue taking from it no?

With all that said, please know that there is no one particular reason about PC that has made me take this break. It's all about me and my life and what needs to be done. Please know that no one here has given me any reason to step away from PC.

I care about all of you.......maybe more than you know or realize. I will be back as soon as I can because I truly do miss everyone and I miss doing my job as an administrator.

Be well and be kind to one another.

Love to you all!

Wow!! This is the first I've heard about you taking a hiatus. I haven't been around as often lately because I've been taking care of my issues too.

I wish you well. I'll miss seeing you around, but I'm glad you are practicing self care and putting your needs first. It sounds like you've earned your vacation and I hope you have a great time. I hope to hear back from you about how your trip went at some point.

I'm really glad you're doing what you need to do. It's so easy, as a caretaker, to get lost in your role and find that you end up on the back burner.

Enjoy your time away!! We'll be here when you return!!

Much Luv!!

don't know you Sabby or your involvement, but you are setting a good example to all of us here by taking care of yourself and your life away from the computer first. Have a lovely time on break, and come back refreshed with the well full of bright, sparkling, fresh water!

((sabby)) - thank you for explaining. You're right - you do have to walk the walk if you're going to talk the talk. Best of luck in re-energizing.

(((((_sabby_))))),

I have too often felt the effects of burn out from pushing too hard on everything I do in my life.....never go at anything without giving 200%.....know you are the same.

It is better to realize the need to refresh & step away for awhile rather then keeping the pushing going. When burn out hits...it takes longer to recover (if ever). I am so glad that you are caring for yourself at this point. Know you aren't going to have much time to relax at this point, but at least you will have more of yourself to give to those in your life & IRL responsibilities along with family.

Not sure if everyone knows just how much time & energy you have given to PC......but you have really given your admin position a full time effort while trying to do everything else in your life. Many may not realize just how much of yourself you have given to PC & I am so glad that you are taking this time for setting your priorities & taking care of those things that need that priority first.

I understand your situation as it was where I was early in spring when I needed to leave the moderator position.

Also know how exhausted my volunteer position at the World Equestrian games (which was only for 3 weeks) caused me to be & I am still recooperating & trying to get my energy back from that.

Ugh, I have found that the older I get the less energy I have while my mind is still thinking back when energy wasn't an issue.

Peacefully care for those things you need to in your life & let your internal energy level guide you to the right time to return. Your admin presence will truly be missed here with your kind, gentle, & diplomatic way of handling situations......but know that when you return it will be with a refreshed energy.

Take care of yourself, distancing from the stresses here so you can handle the stresses IRL with more focus while necessary. PC will always be here needing your special touch when you feel refreshed & ready to be back as our admin.

Enjoy your trip to UK in December, your true vacation away from everything....until then, remember to breathe when IRL stresses hit harder than usual & hopefully you can use a little of the time you were spending on admin work to take a little break for yourself to really relax.

So glad you are taking care of yourself...it's a good example for all of us to see others self-care when the need is realized before burn-out hits...

sending you much peace & relaxation,
Debbie

Rest! I think it's also good to tell the membership that just because someone takes a break from responsibilities here that it doesn't mean they won't be logging in now and then.

Unless you haven't noticed, this place is addictive. It's probably more of a habit if someone volunteers here!

So don't freak out or think someone is lying when they say they are taking a break from PC, and you see they check in now and then.

(((((((((((((((( Everyone ))))))))))))))))))

Thank you so very much for your love and support. You all mean so very much to me and I have missed you.

I've had the opportunity to work on the issues I was facing and stuff is looking pretty good now. The family is stable, the job is what it is and won't ever change for the better and I've been working on my physical health that was being sorely neglected (my own dang fault!).

I've decided that now is a good time for my return. The stress of not being here, of not connecting with ya'll on some level was really getting to me too. I felt like I had left my second family behind and I just couldn't take that anymore!

I would like to thank those who sent pm's while I've been away. I will respond to them as soon as I can.

Can't wait to catch up on everyone and everything! It's goooooooooooood to be back!
