SarahL has agreed to join us on the moderation team, and she'll immediately be overseeing the PTSD forum. You've probably all seen her post throughout the community in the past months, as she's been a positive influence here!

JustBen has also agreed to join us as well. He's currently helping out on the General forum. Ben is a graduate student in psychology, much as I was back when I first started my mental health work online in 1992. He has contributed the most to the community in the psychotherapy forum over the past few months.

Please give a warm welcome to our new moderators!

Thank you,
DocJohn

Welcome to both of you. This would be a good place to tell us more about yourselves if you feel like it. How about an introduction? New Moderators!

Thanks everyone for the wonderful welcome, and thank you for asking for an intro from us.

I'm Sarah, recently turned 48 years old, I have a 25 year old son that I raised as a single mom. My challenges include PTSD and fibromyalgia. I live a few hours south of Seattle, Washington, USA, and I am falling in love with the Northwest all over again.

Lately I am working on writing projects, I am an avid reader, and I recently defined myself on a blog as a "Midlife marvel, research maven, curious cat".

Sarah

Welcome Sarah!!I have Fibromyalgia too. Have you read Dr. Devin Starlynal's book on the topic? It is wonderful. Has helped me understand this disability so much better. I heard about the book on a talk show and had to order it from Books-a-Million. It has a workbook in the back..and even has a few pages for the Doctor to fill out.

Take good care. I wish you luck!

Thank you all for your warm welcome! I apologize for not responding to your many kind messages sooner. (This week has been absolutely crazy for me, as I've been working about 60 hours, going to grad school, dealing with the fact that my grandfather is in the hospital, and I've just recently been picked to sit on a jury!) I expect things to calm down a great deal over the next few days, and I can begin really making a contribution to the forum.

As Dr. Grohol pointed out, I'm a grad student. In addition, I'm married to a wonderful woman, and I have a great daughter. Those of you who frequent the psychotherapy forum have probably read some of my contributions...I've been told that I write in an overly-formal way, so I hope that doesn't intimidate anyone. (It's just a carry-over from my day job, I think, and I'm working on being more personable with my writing.)

Anyway, great to meet you all. If you have any questions for me, send me a PM or post it here in the thread and I'll write back as soon as I can.

-Ben
