If there are any computer experts here, I have my PC up and running but I ran a program and it froze my computer. Reloaded everything except the audio part. I have tried everything. I have gone to my PC's mfg, I have gone the microsoft website, Intel, and still can't find this silly thing.
If you might be able to help, send me a pm. Thanks in advance! |

I am not much of an expert myself but in order to help you we need a bit more specific information such as:
-What exactly have you been trying to install -What is your windows version -What is the make and type of your audio card -Did the audio card work properly before you installed this program -Which steps have you already taken

I am looking for an audio card to listen to music to. I'm using a Gateway, model MX6131. Don't know the make and type of my audio card...clueless about
it. The audio card worked when I got this gift but it crashed when a site froze up on me. I reloaded everything but I believe I encountered a trojan virus (that's what my system and utilities software tell me). I reloaded everything but the device drivers disappeared. I borrowed a disk but it doesn't have the right audio device on it. I went to the Gateway and put in my model number but the device still didn't work. (pauses to pop a klonopin). Rohag came up with a wonderful device driver installer. I guess I will return the piece of crap I bought today. Avanquest sux! Don't buy from them. Anyway, I am enjoying everything else though. |

Have you used your virus checker on the audio card yet? Maybe it's what crashed your computer?

I ran a scan before I installed...it still failed. Rohag suggested DriverZone. Sounds reasonable. I ordered Device Driver Pro and now they want $38 just to help me with the issue (the software was less money than that). I'm going for a refund.
There are some free download sound devices on my computer's mfg website which are absolutely free and they even tell you how to install them. I have a couuple of computer techs at my local mental health center that love helping me because I just let 'em go haywire and they haven't done me wrong yet. I'm also having problems with Coke version 1 and pizza version 2...nervious eating I guess but thanks for the help. You might check out your mfg website and look under support and drivers and dowloads. Good luck to you. |

Just in case trouble persists, also check your hardware configuration under windows. You may have an IRQ conflict although that is quite rare these days.

If you didn't wipe your hard drive, why then can't you use system restore?

Got suround sound now! Everything is working except the DVD player. System wants a DVD Decoder. I got all my media drivers installed or so I thought. I'm happy as is, but when it comes to this laptop, I'd like to have a "clean install" and watch movies at a later date. So now I go find out what DVD Decoder is. This should be fun.
Oh look, leftover pizza! |
