I am Back from Austin...Josh leaves around 6:00 p.m.

in a nutshell, my youngest is furious. i had the hosp do a drug screen and now the state is involved. that means she'll be tested on a regular basis and stands to lose the baby if a test turns up positive. after i got there and took the lay of the land, so to speak, i went into detective mode and found out a lot about who she has been associating with. thus, drug screen. thus, furious daughter. it's very involved and i'm getting ready to go see Josh.....xoxox pat

the army, god bless them, has moved the departure back to 7:30 p.m. colleen will pick me up, so i don't get lost on ft. sill, and we'll go out there around 4:00 p.m.

we got there at four and i just got home. it was the longest leave taking ever. everyone was tired, babies were crying, wives and husbands were crying, mother in laws were crying......i want this year to pass swiftly and safely.

thanks for the support about the drug screens. that was really hard to do. i know she won't talk to me for a very long time, but i couldn't see not doing it. i had to try to save her and the children. her dad was really upset with me but i finally convinced him that it was the only thing i had left to do. he is a practicing alcoholic, so i knew he would resist. he might have to show up for something and a counselor would out him.......

i am so tired. i'm going over to colleen's house now and spend the day and night with she and stella. i'm going to make a special pizza and we'll even have a coke. we're trying to quit them. but this is different.

oh yes I know how hard it is to quite the Coke... I've been able to switch to diet cherry coke, that took many many years of trying!

It sound very much like you did the right thing regarding the drug screen. I know it was hard, but the "right" thing to do is often not the "easy" thing to do... so great kudos to you for having the strength and insight to follow through with what you thought was best.

I hope having the support and confirmation of your friends here helps make that decision easier, having people who understand and agree that it was the right thing to do.
