i've found that helping others is a sure cure for my stressful moments. it takes the focus off me and the good deed is usually just the thing i need. interesting article, i concur re what they "claim" will reduce stress and doesn't. a former T suggested i brrrreeeeaaattthe slowly then let the air out slowly. all it did was make me more stressed cuz i was so focused on relieving my stress it only intensified my stress.
did i overuse the word stress??? now i'm stressed out bout that.

I'm not fond of the title of this article IMO. I think people have to experiment what works for them. For example some people have great results with meditation and others might not benefit at all, if they're extremely agitated at the time - but that doesn't mean it should be tossed aside completely.

The same goes for eating to soothe - just because chocolate has ingredients that calm nerves doesn't mean we should toss the controlling food notion. People are going to have different reaction and benefits. I agree with several things that were said but don't like the blanket title.
