Some of you might have seen that one of my close friends committed suicide last month. Last night I got a call from another close friend who was in the emergency room because of a near suicide attempt. I emailed our college dean to let her know that my friend is not going to be here and tried to support my friend via phone while she was in the emergency room. However, I have no idea how things turned out. She said she would keep me posted, but she never texted me or called me about what she is doing. I am really worried and I just want to know where and how she is.

And there is so much drama in my dorm. I feel like everyone around me is either being incredibly rude to each other or is having some sort of crisis.

I am so, so sorry for your loss of your other friend. It is not easy to lose someone like this and trying to know of another friend that is in trouble as well. She has sought help, which is great, and is in good hands. It is possible she may have been admitted, and is why you have not heard anything because some units do not allow outside contact once in. No news may be good news at this point. It sounds as though she will contact you as soon as she can, given that she called you before she went to or while at the hosp ER.

Ignore the others, sometimes they not not what they do. You are a good friend to be there and do all that you are doing. Hang in there and hope for the best. Sending big hugs your way.
Thanks for this!

Oh dear, I'm so, so sorry about your friend And I'm sorry your other friend is having such a hard time. I'm sorry for the pain it puts you in also-- I've been in your position, and its tough and a lot of stress. About your friend in the ER-- if she was there because she was suicidal, the doctors may have put her in the hospital for 72 hours on watch-- and that means no phone calls or texting allowed for her for those 72 hours. So she is most likely just fine and being cared for and taken care of carefully, but because of hospital rules she cannot contact you for 3 days. So please try not to worry-- she is probably all right. Just not able to contact anyone. Please try not to worry. The best thing you can do right now is take care of yourself. Its a lot of stress on you also, so please do what you can to eat right, sleep enough, and de-stress, okay? You're being a good friend-- take care of yourself.
Thanks for this!
