There's always something beautiful to be experienced wherever you are. Expect kindness and love right along with beauty to be in your life by loving yourself, your surroundings and by showing reverence for all of life.

This is so different from habitually being alert for ways to feel hurt, angry or offended! "That which offends you only weakens you."

(Yeah, Tomi! hehe Expect Beauty! ... Expect Beauty! )

I'm pasting that to my scrolling marquee. It's something I need to be reminded of everyday.
Thanks September.

Gonna do a little bit better than I have been. Expect Beauty!

(Almost said "try" but then remembered what Yoda says about it. "Do or not. There is no try." Right?)

Expect Beauty!

Thanks for the reminder! I always seem to forget there is beauty all around us at times...as I seem to always go to that dark place a lot. I think most of us do that from time to time, though.

Yeah, some of us tend to do that alot. That's when we need to pull ourselves out and purposely find something of beauty to look at; when it's not obvious, ya know?

Wanna know what I do? I go to a plant nursery! LOL It always does it for me, if only just while I'm there. It gives you a break, though, from the "darkness" and it's not quite as dark as before. Expect Beauty!

That is a perfect quote....& oh so true. I guess I am really lucky to have the beauty of Izzy around me daily (along with my other horses) that always have a kiss (unconditional love) for me. Then there is that tiny little puppy (finally found a fitting name: Tiny Tim (Timmy). Oh my gosh......he is full of kisses & snuggles......so much beauty & love around me all the time. I am glad I am in a place to be open to them & what they mean to me. They have been put into my life for a reason, & I am sure the reason is to fill me with a love that the rest of my life doesn't have in it. It gives me the chance not to dwell on the arguments & huge fights or the flashbacks & triggers that the rest of my life seems to have in it. Your post helps remind me of how important the beauty in my life is to protect me from all that is going on right now & that I feel so blessed by having the beauty I have in my life.

It is important for us to be open to the good since we always seem to be open to the bad. It is way to easy to dwell on the bad. It is too easy to recognize the bad & the feelings that it causes.....the anger, the hate, the hurt, the fear. It can seem over whelming & so easy to be consumed by it. Sometimes the bad seems to be louder than the good......but like the saying "stop & smell the roses". We need to be aware of all the good things around us. Stop & look around......when we feel the worst, it may be the hardest time to look for the good, but that is when we need to see the beauty the most & try to open up to the beauty & good things around us. Your post said it perfectly. It is very easy for us humans to cloud our visions of good with the bad, but the feeling of good is so much better than the bad.

Thank you Tomi,
Debbie

PS: Jan, I must have missed the pink flamingo thing with you. I have a really good friend that is into pink flamingos too.....her house if filled with them.

{{{{{{{{{{{Debbie}}}}}}}}}}}}} Beauty IS all around us all the time but we've been trained by our illnesses to not see it. We get preoccupied with all the negative. If only we'd realize that beauty and possitives are always there just as much as the negative. We just need to change the direction in which we're looking. Think "beauty." Do it as often as you remember and then "EXPECT" it. You probably already do when you're getting ready to go out to your horses. You KNOW it's there! Right?

EXPECTING beauty can become a habit just like expecting the worst. It's a CHOICE we can make for ourselves. Just takes some doing, sometimes. Expect Beauty!
