Well, I had an appt with an eye specialist Tues. He's a fantastic Dr. and has helped me a lot. I called to explain I've been crash dived off my meds again and asked if he wanted to wait to see me. I'm having trouble with my vision again. Things are much darker than they should be and I have trouble reading or even seeing the TV. I thought it was med related.

Instead of waiting until Tues, I have to go see him today! So, I'm sitting here shaking like a leaf in a strong wind. I don't know if I'm shaking because the med withdrawls have finally hit or it's a combo with concern about my sight.

The thyroid antibodies my body is manufacturing can attack the eyes, but I just can't believe that's it. Perhaps it's all much ado about nothing. Let's hope and pray so.

Just checking in before I leave.

Jan

GOOD LUCK JAN!

You'll pull through, just as always. Shaking like a leaf and going to the Eye Dr. Hopefully they can find out whats wrong with your eyes and fix them. Maybe just some old fashion glasses, hopefully?

(((((Jan))))))

Let us know how it all goes!

(((((((((((( Miss ))))))))))))

I already have old fashioned glasses! I've had them since the 4th grade! I want new fashioned ones, like contacts! Actually I have tortoise shell owl rims. No, they aren't the current fad, but they just suit me to a "t"! I have a friend who makes fun of them, but I like them and that's what counts.

Maybe the Dr will look at me, and say, "I can find nothing wrong with your eyes, and I think you're nuts!" It would almost be a relief. Shaking like a leaf and going to the Eye Dr.

Hugs,

Jan

{{{{{{{{{{{{{Jan}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Doesn't sound like a fun place to be! Shaking like a leaf and going to the Eye Dr. You're doing what you need to do to take care of yourself, though. Sometimes that takes a lot of courage!

You're in my prayers, Sweety! Shaking like a leaf and going to the Eye Dr.

((((((((jan))))))))) Hope your appointment went well. Do you have a specific eye problem? Maybe your eye doc will give you some drops. Take care.

My eye problems are apparently caused by the thyroid problems. He can do nothing about it but wait until the Drs get that under control and see if my vision improves. Thank goodness, there is no real damage, but my system is so overwhelmed right now that the smallest things are taking big tolls.

I have early onset glaucoma, and thankfully, my eye pressures are really good now. He was proud of me for being so faithful with my eye drops.

He also thought new lenses might be of help because mine are so very scratched. So, I have to check the budget and see if I can come up with new ones. I hope they can make some to fit my frames.

I did meet a very nice young man who told me about a cool church nearby. That was nice. Shaking like a leaf and going to the Eye Dr. Maybe I can meet some nice people when I get well enough to visit there.

Thank you for the support and kindness.

Many hugs,

Jan

You gotta get yourself stablized. Thyroid problems run in my family, though I don't have them, but I do have glaucoma. Dx'd 8 yrs ago, but suspected I had it much earlier. So, yeah, I can understand your concern about your eyes.

Are there any subsidized programs that you can use to help finance for new glasses?

Church, huh? Maybe that 'nice young man' is there too? hmm? hmm? Shaking like a leaf and going to the Eye Dr.

I don't know of any agency that will help me with the glasses. The lowest price I can find on the lenses is $160. Whew!!!!!

The nice young man is very handsome, but I think he thinks I"m old! LOL! He's fresh out of college. It's the first time anyone that age that I've ever talked to has ever looked at me like I was, (eek), old! lolol!!!!!!!! He mentioned that they have classes for every decade! ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll try to get stabilzed. If I do, it'll be a first. Shaking like a leaf and going to the Eye Dr.

Hugs,

Jan

The eye specialist said my sight should improve when they get the thyroid taken out or under control or do something to help it. He said, (just like the other Drs said), that it's putting my entire body out of whack. Here I've been out of whack my whole life and they're just figuring out why! LOL Shaking like a leaf and going to the Eye Dr.

Anyway, it is scary to not be able to see well. Things seem darker than before and sometimes it's like seeing through moving water. Weird, huh?

Thank you one and all for your love and support. All of you are totally awesome!

Hugs,

Jan

What you described doesn't sound like glaucoma - perhaps it's something besides that? Whatever it is, is scary for sure.

If your thyroid is giving you so much trouble, maybe it is better to get them out. You'll be on meds for the rest of your life, but it's better than what it's doing to the rest of you.

Do you have Lens Crafters? I hear they always have some kind of sale.

Huggles.

I'm glad they were able to tell you what is causing your bad vision, which must relieve some of the stress. I hope you're able to find some new lenses from somewhere. Doesn't your Medicare system finance it? Perhaps there would be help with the disability thing you're on (if you're on it, can't remember now).
