I know Neri said it was illegal, but she's in Finland. Is it illegal in the US too? I live in the UK.

Wow, thats well out of line for your dad to open your personal mail. Can't you do online banking or get your mail re routed to you? I would, furthermore, its your money, you earned it fair and square!! Crickey!!! You shouldn't have to justify yourself on what you earn and what you spend......... Huggles and well done and respect!

It sounds like no matter what you do he will be very unhappy with what you're doing. I think no matter what you say or do at this point he will take offense to it. So I figure just tell him like it is. He doesn't have to like it either way.

It's definitely illegal for him to open your mail in the UK. You are over age, & have the usual rights to a private relationship with your bank.
