His raunchy style of humor influenced and delighted many... I liked the chemistry shown in Stir Crazy with Gene Wilder. In 1996 he was diagnosed with MS. He was 65.

Wow! That just came as a shock to me. Richard Pryor died tonight..
Years ago when he appeared on SNL, he had some funny skits with Dan Akroyd, and others. After that I hadn't seen much of him anymore. Back in the day, I found him to be funny.
Sad, thing, and only 65. Richard Pryor died tonight..

Richard Pryor. Genious. I can remember him, a skinny young man, on Merv Griffin's Show in the afternoon, after school.
Merv would have put a bunch of disparate stuff in a box and then hand it over to Richard....... He would pick up something from the box, like a pair of goggles, and turn those goggles into an hysterical routine. Thing after thing out of the box, normal junk, turned into funny funny images.

He expanded my sense of posssibilities: good, bad, ugly, and billiant.

Thank you Sky, for starting this tribute thread.

Yeah... I heard he had been dx'd with MS nearly 25 years ago..but I thought it was in '96. That hits home, in a way. Annette Funicello has MS also, and is quite disabled now... I don't have MS (as in Multiple lesions) I only have 1 lesion on my spine... symptoms often the same... I'm battling to prevent a flare right now as it is... I can only hope that as more and more 'famous" people are affected by MS, that more and more research will happen...
