If you have concerns about a member's post, please contact a Mod/Admin about it.

Please don't post suspicions, etc., within another's thread. It's flaming and unsupportive. If you have concerns, PM a Mod/Admin and refrain from responding at all if the response can't be supportive.

We don't ever know what's on the "other side" of a post. I don't like to assume that I do, and risk hurting another when I don't know the situation.

Thanks for reading.

KD

I want to add that I recognize that we ALL work really hard at being supportive and understanding and that's so appreciated. It's hard not to respond negatively when we read something that affects us in that way.

Thanks again,

KD

Please Keep Replies Supportive.

You're absolutely right kimmy, and I also think it is quite easy to take things the wrong way on a message board or in chat.

Yes, it really can be, DSF. We don't have the benefit of looking at the person that we're having conversation with and see their face, know their body movements, or the tone of voice.

For instance, I have a pretty dry sense of humor and sometimes when I joke people don't know that I am. I always make sure to type that now. Please Keep Replies Supportive.

Thanks again!

I'm feeling like this thread is directed at one of my recent posts. I have always been supportive until this one, and have received much compassionate support here myself. But some situations are beyond moral and rational support, and I perhaps spoke my mind too strongly. I'm thinking, now that I'm well, perhaps it is time for me to leave this forum before I stick my foot in my mouth further. Kimmy, if you have the power to do this, please remove me.
Thanks all, and goodbye.

I want to say that this post refers to no one specifically. It's a reminder for all of us, myself included.

It's hard to read certain posts that are difficult, etc., and not react in one way or another.

Please just remember to ask if the response is showing support to the original poster and the thread. If not, think about it for a bit... That's all.

KD

seeker, please don't go. I myself believe that sometimes I'm not as supportive as I can be. Please hang in there. Yes, there are some that are hard to support but we do our best. Please don't go!

I just read this somewhere, thought it might apply here as well as IRL.

Remember the three R's.

Respect for self.

Respect for others.

Responsibility for your actions.

My rule of thumb is that if you can't be supportive at all don't post at all...or do what I do sometimes (though very rarely here). Just say hang in there, safe safe, and take care of you.

Please Keep Replies Supportive. Please Keep Replies Supportive.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
