i'm not sure if i'm inthe right forum but here goes anyway....

I was wondering if feeling like someone is staring at you in a room where noone else is or feeling like someone is in the other room when no one else is home.... is that paranoid?

This is probably a dumb question... i just had to ask anyway
Thanks for this!

Hi dreambird, Always told my kids "ain't no such thing as a "dumb"/"stupid" question",
only people shrouded in ignorance and pride award themselves for not asking.

Are you paranoid? hmm...there've been times when I thought someone else was in a room with me, and there was no one there. I don't think I was/am "paranoid" for these feelings.

Then there have been times when I was in a vulnerable position (walking through the subway system in NYC in a mini skirt and long boots at 3 am), and I had reason to be fearful...I needed a bit of "paranoia" in such situations. Had to get my own back. (We all need a bit of "paranoia" for self preservation--it is wise to have "some" healthy paranoia)

I dunno, does it happen often? How often?

In particular...yes, this is what they always ask "Do you hear voices?" Is whatever actually talking?
Thanks for this!

It's like everyday... i don't hear voices and no one is talking, it's just a feeling that someone is looking at me but no one is there or someone is sitting in another room but i know i'm home alone... it's very strange

Hi Bird! --we missed each other--you're off line now.

It's you and your bossy kitty alone in the house (took the liberty of reading your profile). Now I want to ask you if you go out much? Do you have a social network? Does anyone visit you? Or are you alone there, and isolating yourself?

If you are in total isolation; I'd say (JMO!) that you have to get out more.
Sounds like cabin fever to me. I am a long time sufferer of this, as I truly have a penchant for isolating. I don't know the answers to my questions so I am unable to tell if this is the case with you.

Pax--theo

I frequently get that feeling just about anywhere, outside, at home, driving...seems have nothing to do with how I'm feeling, it just happens.
Mines a tad more specific; it's always a feeling of extraterrestrials watching me rather than people.
Thanks for this!

i live with my BF... so when he's at work I'm home alone, no one comes to visit me but i do have to except rent from ppl sometimes since my BF is kinda like a maneger of some apartments. On his days off he'll take me out to lunch or something. But I don't leave the house without him. My mom calls me everyday. I don't think i'm totally isolated... i just don't like to leave the house.

Yes, I also experience this feeling. Even if I just go outside to water the flowers. I also feel like others are watching from outside looking in thru the windows. I put if off as paranoia. But then it has grown into a larger monster and now hear phones, doorbells, knocks, crashes, people etc. But yeah, it started with the feeling of being watched. I am now diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, but at least there's a name for it.
