A revelation at work, prompted this question. I served an old lady, and felt compassion for her, really did and then I felt that this wasnt my compassion, it wasnt God's but it was spiritual, so whose was it? Has anyone else felt like that? Then I thought, this same compassion has restricted so much of what I hoped to achieve, then I thought, if its not from God's or the so called enemy then what is it?

compassion without wisdom is like a limping horse, or an untamed ox; wisdom is understanding that we are all interconnected, and there is no helping another without receiving merit oneself. thus generosity is not for the other, but enlightened behavior. if we count what we have here now as our being, we never see that possible glory which awaits those who are both Wise and Compassionate. this is what i have been taught and how i aspire to see the world.
