Info on Spring for Sleeps

Hi Sleeps,

I wanted to say that some of the trees which normally bloom in spring are already starting to bloom here! This is at least two weeks early for us. Today I also saw some paperwhite narcissus up and blooming, which is also very early. I thought this might be encouraging. Maybe spring will come early to the rest of the country too....maybe Punksatawny (sp?) Phil will see his shadow (or however that goes) and predict an early end to winter!

Sleeps, are you putting the brown bag on Phil? If so, I suspect you may need a big pair of leather gloves....When I've seen pictures of Phil, he has very long teeth! I bet he could give a big bite! Be careful! LOL!

Awww, don't have the dog take him out! Who knows what the consequences of that might be?!??! We might be stuck in winter forever!!! EEEK! Besides, Phil is semi-cute, in a rodenty sort of way....

Your dog and Phil going out to lunch....hmmm....where would they dine? I would be willing to bet that Phil is vegetarian. And your dog is pretty excited about things like steak...chicken....Meat...I would think! And if you kidnap dear Phil, what would be the ransom? Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Ahhh ErinBear you underestimate my dog..he eats spinach with me ..heck he eats anything even his own...poop...so he could eat....Phil if he don't get to go to an all you can eat place

Well, yes, I was worried a bit about Phil's safety...and Phil possibly ending up as the dog's din-din! But hopefully the doggie would be on best behavior.

Yes, I've met some dogs who love veggies. I used to know a dog who loved to eat raw carrots for treats, just like some dogs eat dog biscuits! And interestingly, I know dogs can actually be vegetarians....but cats can't. They can't survive that way. Dogs can. Although, we had one cat who adored canteloupe as a treat....go figure....and I've since heard of a few other cats who loved canteloupe too! But our cat, who was normally very shy and quiet, would come to the kitchen and start meowing incessantly if she detected canteloupe being cut-up. She would not let up until she got some. She would throw a fit! It was something else.

Dogs and cats are odd but the best...my cat one of them eats cheetos, chips and chili from Wendys no kidding...I have had him 16 years so he is not harmed by it...just odd..cats in the wild eat other critters and their guts and whats in it so I can see fruit and veggies but cheetos?....doggy will eat a salad no kidding...but he eats everything ...and soon Phil

Oh yes, I've seen pets eat all sorts of crazy things, it's true. I am always surprised to see what they'll eat (or not). But boy - Phil the groundhog better be on the lookout, especially after his negative report today! giggle

Groundhog steaks sound good to me about now BUT I have hope that this too will end in a couple weeks max....ahhh sun soon
