I don't believe that professionals should give up on people, however I do believe that individuals have the power over themselves to work toward making changes and if they don't then what? I think of my own personal situation dealing with my husband and son for many years having battled depression... My husband will only make so much of an effort toward change and then he gives up and falls back into his shell. The question I am now asking myself is when is it time to say.. I'm done? I love him, but if he won't help himself regardless of the many years of support, when to I say its enough?
