Im 44 and have been dealing with 2 pain disorders and other health issues for 20 yrs. Im not exactly depressed, Im just sick and tired of being sick and tired. Honestly, I dont know how much more I can take of being in pain (physically) all the time and the meds not doing anything to really calm it. Gods know, Ive been on almost every med known to man and science and I just cant take anymore. Im honestly on the verge of just saying F*** life and putting a gun to my head. Thats how bad things are right now.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Peace!
G.

Oh, that does sound frustrating. I just got to the brighter end of the tunnel after three days of misery and have been thinking back over the times when I had six months worth but cannot imagine twenty years.

Have you ever been in a pain group (others going through what you are) or tried many alternative treatments? I do wish there were some magic treatment or obvious reason for hope. I usually just keep putting one foot in front of the other, crying with the pain and frustration when it gets too much and distracting myself when I can; researching when I'm able and trying any and everything, including doing "nothing", just "resting" in the pain for as long as I can.

Do you have a pain journal, have a good friend or counselor you can talk to? Any good doctor's you like?

I am sorry you are having to go though this, pain sucks! I know I have been dealing with it for quite some time myself I am on some heavy medication and know many others with the same problem. A friend got a pain patch it seemed to help somewhat He still can't move like he used to, So I don't really know. Do you have a good Doctor? Perna had some good ideas if you haven't tired them, but after 20 years you have probably been through most everything! As much as you try pain does sometimes put your life on hold. I wish you well and am sending good vibes and strength your way for a better day!

Chronic pain can come from depression. If you have not already tried this,I'd get a prescription for an anti-depressant to see if it helps.
