Does anyone know if this is a symptom of something? Some days I feel like I want to make dramatic changes in my life.
Is my life bad? Not at all. However, just yesterday I went to a doggie daycare to check it out for my dog, and I think….wow, I could totally do that for a living. Or, I think, maybe I should consider moving and doing something drastic that I never would ever have done when I was married. Or, decide to take a class and learn a new language, or get a tattoo. I don’t actually DO these things, but I tend to go overboard in my thoughts in terms of how I want to change my life. Is this something that is common for people? I feel like my friends don’t battle with the same gripes- totally waking up one day and changing career paths when they are perfectly happy in their own. Or, contemplating going to get my PhD. Things like that. My pendulum swings way overboard to the other side every day. Or, is this just me being worried and my anxiety popping up? |

If you have a rich imagination, then I don't think I'd worry about it since it's not something you act on. It doesn't seem to interfer at all with your job or other aspects of your life.
On the other hand, if this turns into a whole fantasy existence for you for months on end during which you explore real estate possibilities online, even email agents ... Well, you catch my drift ... Yeah, then I'd call it a problem. So it depends. |

many people get the same feelings to make changes in their lives for many reasons. sometimes it is a mental disorder symptom, sometimes its a physical health symptom and other times its midlife crisis kind of thing and other times its just a personal choice just like going to church is a personal choice. my suggestion contact your treatment providers. they can help you discover if this is something that points to being a symptom or not. |

WELL YA KNOW...everyone looks at some jobs & says..geez i wish i had that job (zoos, park ranger, aquariums etc), people think gee a tattoo, maybe go back to school, maybe move, ...those are called dreams...i have about a million of them..life would be boring without them.
if they are all you have or change wildly..there might be an issue...you still have to stay grounded in what's real unfortunately...bills have to get paid, etc. i guess if you think it might be an issue..as k your doc or t..or find out..better to ask & find out it's not & then enjoy the dreams...& reach for them. & as for the tattoo..hey it took me 20 years to get mine..wanted it, thought about it...just didn't rush into it nothing wrong with dreaming... altho i worked in one of those dream jobs...honestly they are just like every other job...& as for a doggie day care place..trust me it ain't all just playing with dogs...they poop. a lot. & then they eat. & then they poop a lot again. & it's in the summer, the winter, the rain..etc. kennels need to be cleaned & bleached..it was hard work... good luck with your quest. I agree with amanaliouse here in that some things we do in our thoughts don't always mean something is wrong with us. If you really want a diagnosis, none of us can do that here.
I can say that it may not be a sign of a MI, but simply that you have a very creative mind and you also thrive on learning and have a real gusto for life. Yes, that could be an atribute and a sign that you simply have a lot of drive. Some people have many different irons in the fire and have a great sense for business and are very successful people. I know myself that I tend to observe different things, can come up with ideas about how I could add to that type of business or even decorative aspect of something and entertain the ideas as possible life directions. So, it can mean something very positive about you. It all depends on if it effects your actual ability to actually make a decision and stick with it and achieve something. What comes to mind is Ron Howard and how he can look at something and then come up with a hole idea for a story and a movie from that one idea. And even Stephen King can see something too and his mind can view an odd object and that whole process can turn into a novel, something that other people never imagined. So, I would have to say that it really all depends. I don't want to take something that may be an atribute and place doubt there by saying it could be this or that disorder or is something bad when it may be something good. Open Eyes |
