hubby told me last night that he has been having a pain under his right rib, he has been having some back pain too... being a goof ball i never put two and two together... it dawned on me last night to ask him where his back has been hurting... he said between his shoulder blades... light bulb!!!!!!!!

I told him that his gallbladder is probably the problem.. called the doctor and am waiting for them to call back... i talked to my aunt who is a lvn and she said she thought it was probably his gallbladder too, especially when i told her that he had been having problems with a sour stomach...

soo he may have to have surgery... his question to me last night...... what if i dont wake up!!! oh gee thanks! like i need him to be thinking like that..... so i am a little worried about him right now.

I don't blame you for being worried. What a question though!

Please take care of yourself too.

{{{{{{{{{Mel}}}}}}}}}} I'll bet it scary time! But don't you think most of us have that question, at least in the back of our minds, when we're about to have surgery.

Tell him I had that surgery back in the day when they laid you wide open! My incision goes from my left side to the right!! Now the incision is quite small! Also tell him that I'm a smoker and overweight and I came through it just fine so there's no reason for him not to, too.

Something else you can do is turn the question around to him. If he's got real fears, he'll talk it out. a little worried

Don't get too worried about his gallbladder. I had to get mine out years ago and it wasn't bad at all.

Now it's pretty much a small operation where they keep you for only a few hours. I know it used to be considered a major operation years ago, but is really nothing these days.

I know the pain associated with gallbladder attacks is awful, as I had 3 or 4 attacks before finally having mine removed. It will be better for your hubby to have it removed in the long run if he's having trouble now.

MRB -

I think it is fairly normal for someone getting ready to have surgery, to think about maybe not waking up. It was just not on the top ten things you would like him to have said at this time. It means he's comfortable talking to you.

A good friend of mine just had successful gall bladder surgery, all with a mini-incision, and a one-day stay in the hospital. She's home, and just needs a lot of rest. She says she is getting tired every two hours. Not bad everything considered. Keep us posted.

Hugs,
EJ
