Hi Everyone,
I have known for a long time that I have issues with my attention span. Miraculously, I finished a Masters Degree in Special Education recently and am a teacher. But, I can never finish any given task, and lose things all the time. Plus, I get so frustrated because I can't be "normal" like everyone else. Any ideas for treatment that is safe during pregnancy? I am 6 months pregnant with our 3rd son. Thanks for all of your help!!

Wecome to PC and congratulations on your growing family!

Your problems could be ADD, a symptom of anxiety or depression, or something else entirely. My disorganization seems to stem from anxiety.

One thing that helps me is to use a daily planner (paper or electronic) ALL the time. Use the same one for work, family stuff, social obligations- everything. If you have separate systems for work and home, one is bound to fall by the wayside. My planner has 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" pages, which is kind of bulky to haul around all the time, but I tend to lose the smaller ones. People sometimes mistake it for a Bible in its black case. It is, in a way- I use it religiously! I has really helped me organize my time. Organizing my physical surroundings is still a problem-I'm drowning under paper!

As far as meds go, I know there are some that are safe during pregnancy. Our Larry Hoover is very knowledgeable about that stuff and posts to the drugs forum regularly. Another good source for info is Crazymeds.org

Good luck and keep posting!
