Just wanted to post here about something. Sometimes when issues of controversy come up people get real upset and that leads to people feeling like they are no longer welcome.

I went through it myself those of you who have been here for any lenght of time know how my posts at times tends to get people in an uproar. I solved that situation by moving a majority of my experiences and therapy and personal opinions into the blogging area.

That was the best move I could have made. I was and am able to post what I want as long as I follow the blogging rules. With my information, experiences and personal opinions located in my blog those that are triggered by it do not have to have it in their faces. Yes here on the public boards they have an option to not read posts that upset them but for many reasons that protection method does not always get carried through.

The one thing that I have noticed by way of the numbers of how many times my blogging pages have been opened is that people do want to hear about my opinions and information that I blog about. In fact I get more questions and pms and favorable responses to my blog then I ever did when I was posting that same information and opinions here on the public boards.

So for those that went through, are going through or will possibly go through the stress of being brave and strong enough to post their personal opinions and so on and end up in a mess of controversy about their posts. please keep in mind the blogs area is a great solution. there you can be yourself without the controversy effects while people get used to you being more vocal.

Excellent suggestion, Myself. Thanks. I have a public blog about my fiber arts and stuff - one that is intended for keeping in touch with people like my relatives, and that I can send academic and professional contacts to if they want to know who I am. If I had time I would open up a blog for therapy type stuff too. I've thought about it and the only reason I don't is because I'm not keeping up with everything as it is. Some day I'm going to write a book about that stuff too.

I think it's a great solution for those who have time.

Thanks (((((((((((Sky))))))))))))

Sure is. when posting Gotto remember to state the situation clearly, and keep everything to the I experienced point of view.

Sometimes when posts are unclear or are about things that are about or have a strong personal opinion or is on a less publisized side of the topic being discussed it riles those up if the posts hit home or is a change from the normal.

I have found those type things get more favorable attention and responses in my blog then on the public boards.

I have a blog on Yahoo 360 and a live journal...it helps a lot to have those. I can say what I want and when I want, without worrying about people freakin out like I so often fear on the forums.

I don't have one on yahoo. been having too much trouble lately with having email trouble there of when trying to send an email I never know when there won't be a body area to type in. I always have the subject and the to area of emailing but lately its send emails when I can because I never know when whatever they are doing at the yahoo company is going to lose my body typing area so I am changing my emails over to some aol email addresses.I have had aol now for close to a year with no problems. I will be keeping the yahoo messenger but those that have my yahoo addresses will soon be notified of a new aol email address. if they haven't already gotten it. Aol has blogs too but I will not be blogging on it for what I blog here.

I have wrote them twice while my problems were in effect. I did it through their cooments, tell us how we are doing area. to get there click on help then type a question and when the satement comes up did these options answer your guestions click no or type no not by a long shot. and the comments area will open up with a square to type in. My last comment to them is that I told them I did not appreciate the fact that I have been a member of yahoo for years and now suddenly twice two weeks apart when I click on compose there is no body area for typing in. The first time I nicely explained the problem and asked if they could look at my email and correct the situation on their end. The second time it happened two weeks later I opened up the comments area and Then asked if this was going to continue on a regular basis and asked if I should be looking for email services. A week later no progress so I started telling friends by way of yahoo messenger that I was moving my email account to better services and then started using cut and paste on my internet access aol email account sending those file contents to myself in a aol email to transfer everything out of my yahoo folders. as I complete the transfer of each file I deleted that file. The next day after starting that my email was fixed. If they think watching me do this and fix my email is going to keep my business sorry when it comes to my email accounts I don't wait for three strikes your out. They're out. free account or not. Hotmail is a free email account and so are a few other services. One of my yahoo accounts is free the other one is upgraded so its not free and I still have the same problem with that one too. I think it is something to do with their new upgrading for the main yahoo site - main page more games and so on and not geared towards the free accounts.

Sabrina, let me know if you still are having problems. Just a reminder that your blog isn't "activated" until you reply to the email that is automatically sent to you.

Myself - when looking at the numbers, keep in mind that spammers hit our blogs a month or so ago. You can use the feature to prevent spammers from adding comments to your blog, but I don't know if it prevents them from accessing it and upping your "viewed" count. Mine has 7,453 views, but I seriously doubt than anyone found my 7 lame posts to be so gripping that they return time and time again...

My spam blocker has been activated since Doc John placed his notice about having to activae it or you could not have access to your own blogs. but thats a good point for those that havent activated theirs yet and are wondering why they can't find or get into their own blogs. Thanks for the reminder.

For those who are wondering what we are talking about with the spam block the post by Doc john is in technical called - if your blog account has been suspended....

By the way (((((((((LMO)))))))))))
I do read your blog from time to time and find it interesting.
