On the home page there is an article about Springtime and optimism. It makes some very good points. However, there is a big error (I think it could have been a typo

Quote:
Passover is the story of the end of Jesus’ captivity in Egypt, the Exodus. It is a political story of liberation and refusal to be persecuted.

Of course, Passover represents the exodus of the Jewish people. I also believe it tells the story of their hope for the coming of their Messiah. Resurrection Day is what I personally celebrate. The rising of that Messiah from the dead...giving us all hope for life after death. It allows me an optimistic attitude that things will be different eventually.

Sky, I went to the "Home" page and didn't find a thing. Where is it, now?

WOW If that was a type-o, that sat history back a few thousand years, didn't it?? While we're noticing things...

AND while we're noticing... it wasn't just persecution that the Jews were fleeing, it was slavery! While we're noticing things...

The featured articles on the home page change back and forth. I notice the difference between whether I'm signed in, and when I'm not. http://psychcentral.com/lib/2006/03/...time-optimism/ See if this link works.

The article is good about optimism. It carries a refreshing spirit of ideas.

Since it is holiday time for so many Christians, also, I wonder why it doesn't share more about the hope that Christ brought. And yes, while I'm there (the dreaded religion topic) the exodus of the Nation of Israel was definitely a God-thing! While we're noticing things...

Ok... just read it... While we're noticing things... While we're noticing things... While we're noticing things...

Maybe no one has told this person to stay "mum" about things she doesn't know about or to at least check her sources!! There's quite a "mix", shall we say, in beliefs as well as fact! EEEEESH!

I'm not against talking about religion , God or anything of the sort. I was raised Catholic for petes sake. But it is against the guidelines and that is the point I was trying to make. Thank you.

"* Limit your direct discussion of politics and religion, as people usually hold pretty strong opinions about these topics"

It doesn't say to NOT SPEAK of these things, it says LIMIT your discussions.

The discussion is about some serious errors in that article about HISTORY and FACT.

And I was discussing the article on the home page of Psych Central, adding my own views, not suggesting they are the only ones. Peace. While we're noticing things...

The thing is it tends to become a preaching activity for some here and that is not what alot of us want to hear. Some of us come from abusive families who used religion against us. So it would be nice to be considerate of those who cant handle that . Again thanks.

Hi. I don't see any evidence or inclination to proselytize here. We ask each other for prayers. i see nothing wrong with that.Just my 2cents..Tryin. While we're noticing things...

NO there is nothing wrong with asking for prayers . I never said that. Its when there are deeper discussions about other things that it gets uncomfortable and people get preachy.

Factual errors that you catch on Psych Central are always appreciated. It is best, however, if you use the "Contact Us" link contained at the bottom of every page, as this ensures the right person sees it in a timely manner.

I appreciate the catch of this error.

Thanks,
John
