What do you call it when you have voices in your head that can take control of your body, but you can remember what happens.

Hello Shibo how goes it? Not wishing to pry too much but can you be more specific as to hat's going on? BTW how's the weather down there? It's winter I guess. probably nowhere near ours but it's probably cooler than usual. Does it rain much this time of year where you are? Sorry to babble about that. It's just that It's so fascinating to be so far away from someone on the same planet! Anyway, what's going on?

Im sorry but we cant diagnose a problem like this..

in me these problems were called

hallucinations
delusions
bipolar disorder
poor diet/lack of nutrition/eating disorders
Sleep Deprivation
dissociative disorders
Auditory hallucinations
mania
depression
psychosis

(and others.)

Others I know with these symptoms have
schizophrenia
Cancer
Schizo-affective disorder
anti social personality disorder
Paranoid personality disorder
Borderline personality disorder
PTSD
depression
Delusional disorders
anxiety disorders
colds/flu's

if you google the words... hearing voices that take control ....you will find over 6,960,000 results of what this can be...

that said the only way to know what it is, is by contacting your own treatment providers that can diagnose/treat problems like this..

I'm not looking for diagnosis, just an educated guess. I want at least something that I can search and try to analyse, because I fear the meds of some sort being crammed down my throat. And I've searched it, with my level of insanity they can force me by law if I don't keep it secret.

It's quite simple in many respects Shibo. If you realize at some point that this stuff is becoming more of a hindrance to you than anything else than you should recognize it as a problem and speak to someone in the medical field.

There really are no dangers to doing this. Being able to live unemcumbered by unwanted unecessary thoughts is more preferable than suffering through confusion about things. Be brave and try it. Just try it. If things are rough, trying at least...is the way to go. By all means comment on this if you feel like it. I would just like to understand a little more right? Take care in any case.

the thing is Shilo you are asking this question on a mental health board where there are people from all around the world.. those of us that have had this happen have been diagnosed with all kinds of things, hearing voices and feeling like they take control is a common symptom in just about every mental disorder out there.

so you are not going to get one sure fire "something I can search and try to analyse" you are going to get thousands and thousands of different "something that I can search for and try to analyze"

let me tell you a story about a few people I know that tried this route of self diagnosing problems..

one was a woman, she came upon an site like this one, she asked questions, she self analyzed and she thought she found what she was looking for...she was DID so she thought.. as time went on her symptoms became worst why because she had a simple medical problem called anemia.. all she really needed was some more iron in her body...but because she did all this self diagnosing self analyzing and such she died of iron deficiency.

A man I know happened on to a medical /mental health website. like the woman he did his asking questions, searching and self analizing self diagnosing. he came to the conclusion he was DID because he had these same symptoms..as time went on he became worse...and died of cancer.

I know a man who like yourself had these same symptoms and came to the conclusion he had DID or schizphrenia. it was discovered he had a tumor, it was only after he caused a car accident and ended up killing some people in the crash and his wife getting hurt in the crash that his tumor was discovered.. he now has to live with a wife in a coma, raise his child on his own and live with the fact that his trying to diagnose himeslf resulted in his accidentally killing a whole family.

self diagnosing/self analyzing and searching the web is not gong to tell you what your diagnosis is. all its going to do is cause you stress, frustration, confusion and possibly lead you to the wrong diagnosis because you are not going through treatment providers, the medical tests, psychiatric tests and much much more that it takes to reach the right diagnosis.

suggestion stop putting yourself through this, contact your treatment providers tell them whats going on, they can diagnose and treat this problem so that you can stop hearing voices and feeling like they take control of you.

again there is no one something you can search and analyze with these symptoms. these symptoms happen with many, thousands of mental and medical problems. only a treatment provider can tell you what it is out of those many, thousands of things.
Thanks for this!

I get what you're saying, but apart from being a little unfit I'm in perfect health. They've been there for almost eight years, so there's little chance that I'm gunna die anytime soon. And I would rather die than be forced onto meds for it, that'd be taking away my control in a way that Al, Misa and Sai never could! At least I can reason with them at times. I'm also an FTM transgender, and getting diagnosed for this could stop any future treatment for my transgenderism. Most shrinks would think that my TG would be the side effect of Al and Sai, not Misa resulting from my TG. Which I'm pretty sure she did. Needless to say, telling a shrink what's in my head holds the same mental association as jumping off a cliff.

Death isnt the only reason I caution people on self analyzing, self diagnosing.. I also know many many people who misdiagnosed their self with this or that mental disorder and it turned out to be something different..

psych classes are notorious breeding grounds for this. LOL you can read any mental disorder out there and fit yourself into it...especially with something like hearing voices and voices taking control.. we had many normal psych students around here who while studying mental disorders were sure they had all kinds of mental disorders when they didnt.. and we had a student that did have a mental disorder....she diagnosed herself to be schizophrenic when she had bipolar disorder because she didnt realize that not all symptoms of mental disorders are in the books.

some mental disorders symptoms are things like comparing how you feel today vs how you felt as a child, or what medications you are on, or what your occupation is, or even if you have been in contact with someone carrying the flu virus. what a persons body language is, how they put their sentences together, tomes of voice internal and external...... there are lots of things treatment providers consider symptoms that are found on the internet that come out during talking with a treatment provider..

I understand you are scared of being put on meds but unfortunately because just about every mental and physical health problem shares heaving voices and feeling out of control or the voices are taking control, seeing a treatment provider is the only way you will be able to discover the diagnosis and receive treatment for it.

good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for this!

Just remember Shibo that if it all becomes too much you have the right to ask for help with it. I don't understand all the issues but help can be had when and if you need it.

From what I've heard, LGBTQ people have high rates of needing treatment because they face so many difficulties in finding acceptance, facing abuse, etc. Many treatment centers/programs are attempting to provide treatment sensitive to these issues. I would recommend getting in contact with a transgender group and see if they have any suggestions. I googled and came up with a couple places you might start: http://www.atsaq.com/ http://www.beyondblue.org.au/index.aspx?link_id=4.1167 http://www.ftmaustralia.org/library/...-transitioning http://www.qahc.org.au/mentalhealth
