while it would seem that none of these things i have tried have worked, i like to think the sheer amount of things ive tried has helped in some way to keep me at least a little healthier, like pacing, ive come up with lots of ways to do that, the way i used to do it was so rough and hard on my already tense muscles, i changed the style of the way i pace a little bit, now its sort of fun, and it seems to help me clear my thoughts, and it also doesnt irritate my lower back like it used to. have any of you tried some weird thing to feel better

I know some times it may seem odd to some-- but crafting-- specifically knitting (i use a board but I want to learn to use the sticks) and crocheting seem to help at times with "letting things settle in my mind, or accepting things".... journal writing has helped a lot too but it is not always a savior but it can help out so much as well........ I am not sure if I am off the topic of what you are mentioning with pacing.. walking sometimes helps me, rather than to stew over things some times* other times, walking does nothing for me....
time, some times, it is just time to help things... I am glad that you have found a more fitting way of pacing for your self not only mentally but physically as well it sounds like. be well

What a neat idea/thread!
I accepted most of my defenses/symptoms and put them to good use. It's just my body trying to help and it knows more what I need than my conscious self. Just adjusting some of them, like you did your pacing, does help. I use my good imagination and think up games to help me do things I don't want to; made up a board game where I roll dice and then have to do whatever that number says on a collage I made (with numbers for each "section" to correspond to the numbers on the dice). I even put in a "free day" number, where I did not have to do anything, and a fun scavenger hunt, go-to-the-dollar-store, roll where I had to find a single item there to help me do something, bring it home and use it. I've always liked to "play school" so have created my own courses, websites, written and read self-help workbooks, etc.

I think you've got the right idea to try many things. Have you tried yoga? I like that.
