For anyone who might be curious about their gender, I have found a super site of info about androgyny.
http://androgyne.0catch.com There really needs to be a gender/sexuality topic on this site. These issues are very closely entwined with with mental health and don't really fit into any of the given topic headings. [b] Wherever you go, there you are[b]

Hey KV:
I can see that YOU are back. That's nice - I'm glad that whatever you are taking is working for you. I thought about you recently, and got a little sad. I was in the car and a song by Dar Williams came on -- "when I was a boy". I own the CD and have listened to it thousands of times, but never really paid attention to they lyrics of that particular song. Anyway, initially it kind of reminded me of you because of the 'androgyny' aspect of children, when it doesn't matter which gender you are -- kids are largely free to be themselves (or so it would seem in Songland) but are stifled as adults. But then the end of the song made me burst into tears -- because I guess I didn't really ever think about how men also mourn the loss of their freedom to be feminine -- actually more so than women do because our freedom to be masculine is much more accepted. Anyway, I'm not sure how much it has to do with you personally, but my initial thoughts were of you. We are ALL going to be a-ok!

Oh LMO... I *LOVE* that song. It touches my child's heart. I was so much like that. I even remember the day my mom and dad had the talk with me that I had to wear a shirt from now on coz I was getting to be a big girl now.
