For those of you who are in touch with/believe in your "inner child", how old are they, and are they always the same age or does their age vary depending on your mood/"mental state"?? I did a (just for fun) on line test, and my inner child was one year old Inner child? Inner child?, but I was having a particularly bad day/week. Inner child?

Take care!
Fuzzy

I feel more or less stuck at about 13.

Where is the online test?

I think mine is around 5.......certainly no older. That is the age I last remember being really "happy" - between my parents arguing and other problems with my brother, etc., the sweet innocence children have was gone after that.

Most of the time there is also an "older" voice in my head that continually pops up when I am stressed......she encourages me to not feel, to stop being dependent on my T, and to let her take charge - in between telling me what a failure I am.

Where did you find that test, Fuzzy? I'd love to know if I'm right...........thanks.

Hey, Fuzzy. Don't know a whole lot about the "inner child" thing. I actually have several inner children, but then I also have dissociative identity disorder, so I would. We're beginning the integration process which is hard because I (the "host") have to relive all the s**t I repressed and split off from as a child. What you're doing sounds interesting, though. Fuzzy,
My "inner child" starts with age 6 y.o. and sad to say it isn't/wasn't a very nice thing
I feel I believe I have let it go, but it comes back to haunt me often
Fortunately, it hasn't been about "me", just the environment I was forced to grow up in, and try to accept, but again it still finds time to haunt me. . .

Love,
"darkeyes"

And may I add, my "former" therapist more or less never let this part of me evolve, lacked interest, in an area where I believe I needed lots of help, but stupid me, didn't realize that till I was out of his client list, discarded me like " yesterday's trash " , may his soul rot in hell

Fuzzy, when I was going through my regression therapy, my T told me to just let the child come at whatever age. The first one was three. That was the age I was during the first trauma. The second one to emerge was about eight and the last one was a teen. She's the hyper vigilant, smart mouth fighter. The three year old, I always "saw" dressed in white but her dress was dirty. The eight year old had a brown and orange jacket on, but not one I ever had! Never did figure out what the orange meant, but I saw an orange butterfly when she was around, too. The teenager was dressed in a medeival outfit of leather with a chain shirt. She also had a dagger and a lance. For me, the ages symbolize arrested emotional grown and trauma.

I thought it was only pregnant women who had an "inner child", so to speak.

Still, if I do have one, then he's encouraging me to go to the pub. Can't really argue with that, can I?

She needs lots of hugs, love and attention, Fuzzy! What is it that she needs in particular?
