Stop worrying about what you don't have and start finding real joy in what you do have. Stop agonizing over what might happen and start moving toward the best of what can happen.

Naaah... I wouldn't call myself "paranoid" but I do tend to that sometimes. Living

Some of my what if's are so rediculous. Some of them are like saying, "What if my refridgerator jumped off the ground and threw itself at me or what does my goldfish think of me?" Silly examples, but helps me to see how silly some worries are. Doesn't stop me worrying though. Well it doesn't feel like it. Maybe I'm just not grown up enough yet to see that my worries are not going to happen.

Thanks for posting this.

Well... you could make a list of those silly worries and try to remember if they ever happened. If not, write it in big letters next to the worry - NEVER HAPPENED! I don't think age has much to do with it... Living

Gonna let you in on one of my silly, stupid worries. My first husbands THIRD wife is a very insecure person and constantly critcizes what other people do, especially me... or at least she used to. She doesn't talk to me anymore. But on the grandkids birthdays, the whole family gets together and she and my ex are always there.

If I'm making something for the grandkids, my self-talk becomes all about what she MIGHT say about what I've made. I find myself answering her in my mind; counter attacks at her supposed critisizms. It goes on and on for days before the birthday party. THE WOMAN DOESN'T TALK TO ME ANYMORE! So why do I worry?? Why do I fight with her in my mind?? Because I allow myself to let her get to me! What do I care what she thinks?? She's a low-life! Honestly!

It's a battle, but I've been working on not doing that anymore. Sheeeeesh!

Thank you for posting this, September Morn. It rings very true for me at the moment, feeling as I am, and also ties in with some things I discussed with T today. I need to keep remembering that I AM safe, even when I don't feel it, and that I have people who care about and love me. Fighting the panic is hard, and when I start to feel anxious it just snowballs. I think I will add this quote to the new notebook I am going to start.

I spend way too much time in the terrifying land of "What if?"

Thank you for this.

Anxiety and panic as well as depression sure warp out perspective on things. I finally stopped believing what they told me. I live with anxiety myself and now I recognize the physical feelings and ignore what my mind tries to tell me. It's not easy, but it can be done.
