i was wondering does anyone know where i can take the mmpi test for free? my therapist told me to google it online, take it, and bring it in. i did google i saw broken links and saying it is not free that it was taken offline due to copyright issues.

u can take it in the psychiatrists office, but in her office, i am not sure if i could take it given we only have an hour to chat.

Could you schedule an additional appointment at the psychiatrist's office to take it so it doesn't infringe on your 1 hour time?

I don't think the MMPI is available online, at least not the official MMPI. It would compromise the results of the test, I think. I know that tests similar to the Big Five personality test are readily available online. The Big Five measures openness, agreeableness, extroversion, conscientiousness, and neuroticism. You could take that and bring it to your T, since it measures some similar traits.

You can actually take one here at Psych Central, by clicking "quizzes" on the navigation bar, then clicking Psych Central's Personality Test. It's the first one under the personality category.

you can not find the complete and updated version of the MMPI on line. there are many incomplete and outdated versions online which do not give accurate assessments.

if you are here in the USA your therapist is able to have access to the complete and up to date version, and she can administer it to you, then the mental health treatment provider sends it out to the computer scoring agency that her mental health agency uses for standardized psychiatric evaluations.

you might want to ask your treatment provider which version of the MMPI she wants you to take, there are many different versions depending upon what is being tested for example does she want you to take the RC scales, or the ACS4EDI version, or does she want you to take the RPS3EdI all of which scores a different way and each includes their own components that the testing and test report takes into consideration.
