Have you talked to a psychiatrist about this? Maybe the medication you are on isn't working for you.

I did have this problem, but it was a reaction to an Implant of Lupron I was given that depleated me of estrogen. That sent me into a severe depression and yes it was a fog and stooper state of mind for me. I was given Zoloft and Estrogen and after a while I slowly came out of it.

Also have you had your thyroid checked?

I tell women to have their thyroid checked and also if a woman is entering menopaus she can become very depressed from the estrogen drop. Men can become depressed as Testasterone lowers and also they should have their thyroids checked as well.

It is always a good idea to get a physical too.

I have been known to get this brain fog also. For me it seems to be a combination of depression and a stress overload. My old therapist once compared it to an electronic overloading, she said your brain can only handle so much stress before you go on autopilot.

Having your thyroid checked is always a good idea however there are also other tests that can be done to eliminate other possibilities. One time my electrolytes were out of balance and I felt completely out of whack.

I hope things improve for you soon, the brain fog is no fun at all.

since your thyroid is normal there is nothing for you to do, normal means your thyroid gland is the way its supposed to be, is working the way its supposed to be and is healthy.

sorry we cant diagnose you meaning we cant tell you what this is in you. only your doctors can tell you why you are having brain fogs and what to do about it.

with me I get brain fogs from ...

my meds
sleeping too much
not sleeping enough
not eating correctly
and not drinking enough water.
its part of my having
Multiple Sclerosis
stress
anxiety
depression

my mother gets it because she is menopausal

I also know people with body dysmorphic disorder /OCD who have this same problem

again only your own doctors can tell you what this is called in you and how to best treat it in you.

suggestion if this continues to bother you, contact your treatment providers, they can tell you if its a symptom of your existing mental problems, a physical problem and can get you tested if its something new.

Well, you can have it tested again, it can be fine and then someone can have something wrong. It is just a good idea to run this pass your GP and make sure it is nothing "physical"

the thyroid gland produce hormone that are found in the blood, thee hormone travel with the blood to carry nutrient and oxygen through out your body.

the test that is done to check on the thyroid is just a blood test... the blood test tells the doctor which hormones and how much, along with how much oxygen and nutrients are in your blood. the blood count numbers tell the doctor if your thyroid is normal or not.

if the blood test says your thyroid is normal then nothing needs to be done.

if the blood test says your thyroid is not normal then the blood test numbers tells the doctor which tests to do next like for example..

if your blood test says its lacking one hormone another blood test is done, then if that blood test says you are anemic then the doctor prescribes vitamins and an iron rich diet..and a test to look for things like ulcers in your digestion tract.

what ever your blood test shows tells the doctor what to look for next and what test to do.

Are you eating a balanced diet? That can also make a difference.

I get this too, I have gotten blood work done and it shows nothing, and I am not on any meds. Sometimes it happens when I sleep to much. But other times it just happens. Is like everything around me is going by so slow, and I'm going even slower. I feel like a zombie or puppet like you said And i have trouble with concentration and my speech (trouble finding words, loosing train of thought, stuttering). It's almost as if I am on some sort of drugs. It's strange! I wish I knew what caused it too.
