Hi All,

Well the new job was not a good fit for my husband. I had my concerns in that regard, but felt unable to say anything to husband last week. I became concerned when hubby said the employer had asked him how old he was. Anyway the ex-employer, was able to replace him with cheaper labor, a person from Mexico.

I told him to be kind and gentle with himself and me, and we will get through.

Thanks everybody for listening,

EJ

Check out EEOC, to see if it's age discrimination.

Does hubby have the initial job offer in writing?

I doubt there's anything you can do about this... probation time of minimum of two weeks usually comes along with any job...and means no questions asked/answered. Prayers please - husband bounced out of job

Prayers please - husband bounced out of job

((TC EJ))) at least maybe he got a new taste of the feel good about working???

Kansas Age Discrimination in Employment Act

Chapter 44. Prohibits an employer because of age, to refuse to hire or employ such person, to bar or discharge from employment or to otherwise discriminate against the person in compensation or in terms, conditions or privileges of employment; to limit segregate, separate, classify, or make any distinction in regard to employees because of age without a valid business motive.

Enforced by the Kansas Human Rights Commission. For full text of this act, go to http://www.ink.org/public/khrc/pdf/Act.pdf

Jenny,

Thank you for thinking about us and for your suggestion. However, this wasn't a formal enough situation.

Jennie,

The valid business motive is he could get someone else to work for him for less money, and therefore make more profit.

Thanks though,

EJ

Hi Bebop,

It is totally illegal to ask about age on an interview.

It wasn't a good fit, so no big deal.

God will take care of us.

Thanks for your sweet note.

Hugs,

EJ
