So last night my dad comes into my room talking about something then he says he has this little ring or rash thingy on his lower right leg just above is ankle. And me being who I am said i couldn't see it and he puts his foot on my bad. Almost like i set myself up for a trap. I freaked out when he did because I am like germophobe Extraordinaire. Well needless to say he got on me about some other stuff that aren't up to standard i have but to me medical conditions no matter how small to me are threatening for some reason if there is no possibility of it being spread since its so small at the time. It resulted in my dad calling me a d-bag and me getting mad over something trivial but i couldn't help it. Even just the fact he put his foot on my bed freaked me out. His unsocked foot!

I guess my question is, Does anyone else freak out like this over something trvial?

When I was in college my roommate made fun of me because I LOATHED it when ppl would put dirty feet, socks, or shoes on my bed! I was like, really?! Were you raised by wolves lol.

Now that I am married, I've learned to pick my battles

Lol I am not married so i guess i haven't learned to pick battles. I was mroe concerned with catching what may have been on his ankle....The dirty foot was secondary.

I offended a friend when I declined an offer to share a home because I did not want to have to share a bathroom There are a few things that are non-negotiables for me and that is one of them.

I hope this helps a little.

ps, if you were a health practitioner I would be concerned with your reaction (as you should be, as well ) but I think your father's foot belongs in the face of a professional.

I worked as an emt so i freak out at anything that may be contagious no matter how small or insignificant. I acquired an infection while working as an emt that almost caused me to lose my foot. But luckily it didn't so i freak out now lol.....when it comes to weird skin infections or anything of the sort.
Thanks for this!

Maybe he had ringworm. It is hard to catch. You have to come across spores from animals with it and for a person to catch it from another person you basically have to rub skin.

If you get a small patch of ringworm, just get an antifungal (those for feet work) and treat it twice a day for a week and it should be gone.

I don't have fear of these things, I actually had several skin conditions including this one. I mean he could even brushed against an irritant and no germs involved at all.

I do have other sensitivities. In my family we have this idea that light is bad (so are my eyes), so they turn down the lights so I can barely see anything. And my friend's family think bathroom keys are silly so I have to beg for one and I'm looked at like I'm an idiot. But I hate when people just open the door when I'm doing my business. Also her family or mine always have to say something negative about me, I guess they will implode if they have to keep nice.

I met a guy in Northern Cali this summer that almost died from the flesh eating bacteria. He was out in the woods, cut his leg and it got infected.

I have been using purell like a crazy person because of the flu.
