OK... I called her cell and she didnt answer .. but I later got a call back from her while I was at my dads cleaning. Her dad is home. They gave him some medicine and got his sugar down . They tested it and it was so high they couldnt even read it! He still cant feel his legs from the knees on down. They sent him home last night I think she said because of his insurance. But if his doctor that he see's Friday thinks he needs to be back in the hospital they will put him back in then. Jenn is back home too right now. Lets keep supporting her.. she's going to need us.
Thinking of you Jenn... Sending you my love and prayers for you and your dad!

Hi, everyone.. Thanks for your concern and prayers. They are needed right now. My dad went to the hospital where they only kept him overnight because of his stupid insurance.. grrr!! He has to be put in the hospital by his regular specialist in order for his insurance to pay for it. He sees him (the specialist) in the morning. I thought it was Friday, but it turns out he has to be there first thing in the morning. But, he was feeling faint because his blood sugar was so high. They tried to test his blood sugar on one of those little machines like he uses at home, and it was so high it wouldn't read it. But when they tested it another way we found out that it was a little over 700. And, like I said, his cholesterol is 900. He's not in good shape right now. My dad is young.. he turns 50 on the 21st of this month. I'm worried about him. Mental Pollution The docs say it's just the diabetes that are tearing his organs down. He has Type 1... or juvenile diabetes. This just stinks.

I'll keep you all updated on his condition. Thank you so very much for the prayers, everyone.

Jenn

Thanks, everyone. He went to the doctor this morning. His blood sugar is still high, but not as high as it was. It's around 500 now. And since it had dropped his doc didn't put him in the hospital. His cholesterol is still out the roof. And I'm still very worried. He just doesn't look right to me.. he looks weak and ill. I think he needs a new doctor honestly. But I can't tell my parents what to do. Mental Pollution All I can do is be there for them. Please continue to pray for him. Thanks for all the prayers already. I'm a firm believer that prayer works.

Love, Jenn

You can offer the suggestion of a second opinion doctor. You can even call one for an idea on a phone consult. People don't think well when stressed, and they want to believe the doctor they have is thinking straight.

It took 2 years for me to get my mom away from her bad doctor. Once I convinced my sister (a nurse!) to listen to me, filed a formal complaint against the doctor. It was for more than 4 bad calls/issues! I wish I had been able to do it sooner, she went downhill so in those 2 years (and she "loved" that doctor.)

GO ahead, step in. If you don't now, you will always wish you had. BTW it is just a suggestion at this point, hopefully they will follow up on it Mental Pollution
