I have been away for several days and there are literally hundreds of new threads and posts. How does one catch up after being away? I feel horrible that I might appear unsupportive because I don't reply to all posts but I don't really know where to start!
I want to talk to everyone but I am so overwhelmed. What do others do when they come back after a break?

I just catch up on some of the threads on the first page of each topic I feel I have something to say that is useful, and not all of those. Look for what interests you and what you feel you can contribute to. You can't be everything to everybody.

While I cannot be everything to everybody .... so many here mean so much to me and I would hate for them to feel I am being "selective"!
Everything interests me, except for what I choose to ignore for triggering reasons. I have never felt that I am "everything to everybody". Quite the contrary actually. My opinion of myself is honestly not that high that I expect to be missed!

No, but I don't think anyone feels you're being "selective" if you don't read or respond to every thread. You have a life, too. It doesn't mean you don't care about people if you can't help everybody. You're one person. You're entitled to take time for yourself as well.

when I don't get on every day I click on each message board and on the index of subject lines to the right it tells when the last post to that thread was made. I click on the ones that say "today" first because the odds are good that the ones marked "yesterday" will at some point be bumped up by someone else replying or bumping it up at somepoint in the next few days. any below the ones markled "yesterday I read later on when I have more time to read because I have noticed that if they don't get bumped up the odds are good that the situation being discussed has been solved for the person either in their real life or by someone that was around when they first posted thier thread.
