as soon as I got to my brother's yesterday I fell on the curb. My brother gave me some heavy painkillers that didn't do a thing for my pain. Went to my doctor today and the swelling is crazy. My ankle is the size of a softball and going up my leg. X-ray showed a lot of bruising inside me ankle. Be off work till next monday at least. When the swelling goes down I'll have an air cast for a few weeks. On cruches On cruches

Still really swelled. I can't put my air caste on until it goes down. They had to send for the caste from Nashville, so waiting for them to call when it comes in.

did you ice it? you still can ice it. firts aid words to remember: ICE you use ice for injuries and compression and elevation. It really keeps the swelling down if you hit injuries with ice right away. 20 minutes on 10 minutes off. If you don't like cold, also hug a hot water bottle while you ice your extremity.... Best quickest healing to you.

I'm so bord right now it isn't funny. There are only so many court TV shows a person can watch. Using my desk chair to roll around with now. The crutches make me really tired.

Brother looks good and eating VERY WELL. Next surgery for him is the 31st.

Love Ya,
Lisa

Remember when I was in the wheel chair? When I had to use the crutches, I pushed myself around in my office chair by shoving on the crutches. It makes you very tired.

Please try to rest. I hope you can find something, anything other than court tv to watch!

I hope you feel better soon.

I haven't forgotten your brother either.

Hugs,

Jan

Sorry to hear about your accident.....those dang curbs seem to be good at jumping up in front of us & tripping us. Take good care of yourself. I know what it is like to be on crutches.....I had my knee reconstructed many years ago before arthroscopy was used. I wasn't allowed to put any weight on my leg for 3 months.....on crutches that long. I got really good at using them....& they became great protective weapons too.

Hope the healing goes well......a lot of calcium helps with the healing process.

Take care,
Debbie

Thank You Debbie

My hands and shoulder really hurt from the crutches. I find out more tomorrow morning when I see the orthopedist.

Lisa,

Keep your arms perfectly straight with your elbows locked. Don't let the pads rub under your arms. The weight has to remain soley on your hands. With your elbows locked, you won't have pain. Swing through your crutches. Don't hop.

Hugs,

Jan
