In 105 degree I would hate it too. I usually like to move. I get rid of a lot of stuff I do not use and find things I forgot I had and the new place is usually better, well minus who you leave behind. I am sorry it's so hot there. Also with your boyfriend being so ill you do not need this. Can you have a moving party? I would drink a lot and hop in the tub. Cool off. If you lived near by I would help you move.

105* here yesterday too. Move? Like more than to turn the fans up? Go pee pee? Dunk myself in cool water? Move, like in pack, load, drive, unload unload unload????? Needless to say, I couldn't do it. Staying hydrated is the thing. Hang in there, we're behind ya cheering and hosing you down.......

My Dad used to say that four moves equal a fire.
(in terms of getting rid of stuff) I thought it was kind of funny..

Texas heat is hot! There's no nice beach to go to, either.

You live close to the National Park in Bastrop, Texas. It's gorgeous there. Maybe you can go to some lake or river and float on a raft to cool off???

You could get a baby swimming pool and lounge in it under the shade while drinking lemonade and reading a book.

i'm back in texas. whew. i'm still sweaty and hot but am going to jump into the shower asap. sure was glad to see my little house. i had some good help while up there. and some good laughs. got rid of some stuff. that sure felt good. this area is the mecca of yardsales and i brought some of my nicer stuff that i don't want and my neighbors and i are going to have a sale...when it gets cooler. moving is punishment for another life time of sins

the cats were like "where the hell have you been?".....all that meowing and tail waving....

i did not unload one article, item. we're having an unloading party tomorrow p.m. the neighborhood is geared up for it.

one negative note. my neighbors to the east, not the friendly ones, had two dogs when i left. they now have five. and they don't take good care of the two. they just pour their food out on the ground and never, ever pet them. i pet them a lot because i feel so sorry for them. and they got two more puppies and a grown dog. i'm putting up something to block my view of their yard. i'm too soft hearted for that.

lightbulb moment! i bet there is a city ordinance on the number of dogs you can have!!!!! i'm going to check. if they don't pet and love two, i seriously doubt that they will care for 5 properly. end of rant. xoxox pat

I'm moving too...packing mountains of boxes, getting rid of most of them, and my AC has quit. Now I have to pay for a new whole house unit for the new buyer who moves in in 4 days! Oh, well.

I got my apartment today....I'm working on getting everything all turned on so that HUD can come inspect it and I can move in. I am so excited to be moving out of the little hell hole I'm in now.

Pat I told you somewhere above if you lived closer I would help. Though I hate your heat. I love to weed things out. My long term goal is to rid myself of 1/3rd of my stuff. I am needing to keep it simple. Call a charity and give most of your stuff away. They will haul it. Still you have to box it.

Our town has a law - no more than 2 dogs without a special permit.

I'd reason to say that most towns have similar ordinances. Call City Hall and ask.

Yes, this moving is the hardest thing I have ever done...I don't know why it's so hard this time, but I hope this will be the last for a long time. The auction company came today and hauled off four truckloads of stuff, and still have to come back tomorrow for more truck loads. I am ridding myself of most of my possessions. I think this has been mainly why it has been so hard....not getting rid of the stuff, but just dealing with all I've accumulated. This will not happen in my new house!
Also, my air conditioner has quit and must be repaired for the new buyers. This evening I got so hot in this weather, I began feeling ill while moving boxes for the auction people to get to the sale stuff. I'm whining, ain't I!
Love

whining is accepted when you're moving. even encouraged. moving is punishment for another life time of sins

about the dogs next door. it was 101 today. those little puppies were out in the heat the entire day and now if i go outside, they are crying. i am calling the authorities tomorrow. the grey dog is still on a chain and cries every time she sees me. i'm way too soft hearted to live next to this. every time i've spoken to the woman, she's been really rude. and they kept Butch on a chain all day also. they have a very nice fenced yard. i am not getting this at all. they even pour the dog food on the ground........there are people who definitely should not have any animals.
