I'm usually not a violent person. Actually I was in quite a good mood!
I just felt like I needed to leave my mark. Somewhere. I had to be noticed. |

I wish I could do that sometimes and then I think how much it would cost to repair the wall! But letting anger out is a good thing if done in a safe way, better out than in, so they say.

Really? Maybe on the outside you were in a good mood but having been there myself I know this means you're in turmoil on the inside. It's tough to feel good about yourself if you don't feel you're noticed and complimented or appreciated for being who you are. Work on those anger issues, it's best to manage them rather than express them--inside or out!

The punched hole is a loud statement of "I am in *this much* pain and misery!! You could take what happened as a stepping stone to feeling much better if you talk about it in depth with your therapist. Or, if you don't have a therapist, you could use this as a reason to find one so that you will have someone to talk to about what you wish for, fear, feel frustrated about, feel hopeless about, feel joy about, feel hopeful about. ![]() |
