I suggest you talk to your doctor about it. Maybe he/she can adjust the meds or the dosages......

Your doc added the Abilify to the Cymbalta, right? So I imagine it's the Abilify that's doing it, right?
How much Abilify are you on? Can it be reduced? Why not talk with your doctor and see if the Abilify can be reduced. It would be a shame to stop taking it because I don't know about you, but it sure did work good for me as far as helping with the depression. I had to stop taking it tho, because it made my ankles swell too much. So talk with your doctor about it. Perhaps he can adjust the dose. Good luck! God bless. Hugs, Lee ![]()

slurred speech can be dose-dependent and may go away with either the reduction of the dose or just passage of time, but I am very worried that your face hurts while you are taking an AP, so please report this side effect to the p-doc - call tomorrow, call the cell even though it is a Sunday. If you do not have a phone number to access the p-doc on a Sunday, call Monday morning.

I have slurred speech on my antipsychotic Geodon. Had it now going on 5 years. Sometimes it's noticeable, sometimes it's not. For me, it's a form of muscle rigidity that is concentrated in my jaw and not a form of tardive dyskinesia. Sometimes I have trouble chewing, sometimes I don't. Pdoc lowered my dose to see if it would help and it has somewhat. Also tried Cogentin to counteract the muscle rigidity but found I am allergic to it. I do have the option of trying another med to counteract the muscle rigidity, to try other antipsychotics, or to just put up with it. The decision is mine and my pdoc will work with me in whatever path I choose to take. Right now I choose to put up with it until otherwise. For my mental health, Geodon has been a lifesaver.
Talk to your pdoc about your symptoms and make adjustments, add, or change meds accordingly with what is comfortable for you. Last edited by cybermember; Mar 03, 2013 at 03:17 PM. |

I"m also on Cymbalta and Abilify. However, I've never had any problems with either of them.
Since you are, I strongly suggest you call our doctor so he/she can change your medication. You're experiencing side effects. Not good. Hugs & Prayers. |
