The Biography Channel will air a special program called "Bullied To Death" at 9:00 p.m. est tomorrow, (Wed.), night.

I think all parents, relatives and friends of people who have children should watch it. Things are so out of hand in some cases now.

It would be good... as parents often bully also... and other parents need to realize that it happens in many group activities...sometimes even at youth groups held for youth support! Thanks for the input!

The bullying is out of control, when my son was in grammar school, I can't even begin to tell the hell they put him and some other of the quiet boys.
I was a volunteer teachers' aide for 2nd graders m-t 830 to 1230. Many parents provoked such horrible behaviour, competetive breed highly competetive kids, not all, but many, I saw this daily. I use to hear, "ho he has family problems, etc. yes, true, but someone should do something about it. "vacant" parenting is also a problem that contributes to this, lack of structure/security fires such behaviour. I can go on, but a case that is etched in my mind was a horrible beating with baseball bats a little boy suffered and died right on the church steps where he was running to get help. Bullies beet him literally to death for fun, sick stuff, eh?
His name was Eddie Pollock, and this was in the Philly area, heartbreaking story, he was the only child to a woman, his mom, who was a crossing guard. She appeared on our news a couple of times, my heart bleeds for her pain and sorrow. I hope the kids get life in prison, after all they beat this child to death, they knew what they were doing, and frankly this was fun for them? They need to be thrown in psych ward section for criminals.
Parents need to take time and teach their kids about bullies and to not become one. Secretly report any bullying.
So sad, so very, very sad. "Bullied to Death" - Special on Biography Channel

OM gosh, it has gotten to a point to where it's almost considered torture. Like in high school and things what the students do to one another is practically what gamgs do to one another...really scary stuff.

I know, when my kid would go off to school, I'd be a wreck of what goes on, till I'd see the bus pull up, then that knot would go away. I wish I could just protect him forever, but he is going on 20, never the less us moms worry about them and their safety.
Good topic

I'd give anything to be able to see it, but I don't have cable tv. Sniff..."Bullied to Death" - Special on Biography Channel

Vicious, constant, violent bullying throughout my childhood is what gave me PTSD, which I've lived with since I was 13 (I'm in my 50's). More shows should be done on that topic -- and on stations everyone can access. "Bullied to Death" - Special on Biography Channel

oh how unfortunate, i went to watch the "Bullied To Death" program on sky last night, only to find us here in the UK werent getting it, even though we have the Biography Channel. i wanted to watch that!

its a shame more cant be done to battle bullying, its something that stays with you all your life and teaches you from such a young age how cruel the world can be.

Lest hope they show it here in the U.K very soon. i for one will be looking out for it.

I just checked, and it's on tomorrow (Saturday) at 6-7 p.m. on the A&E channel. I didn't see this thread in time for the Wednesday showing, because we had to set up a new modem, and I've been busy catching up. I'm glad I saw it in time for Saturday. Bullying is a pet peeve of mine, having been a victim.

I watched the program - it was sad hearing what some kids suffer through because of bully behavior by other kids. I would love to see more anti-bully programs implemented within schools. The program emphasized that bully behavior should not be accepted as a rite of passage - it is hurtful and should not be tolerated. I thought it was a good presentation - hate the commercials, next time I'll record and then fast forward.
