when I was a kid my aunt and uncle would come and rent a camp on a local lake and we would get to stay there with cousins and play and swim and have no sense of time or space. These are the best memories in my earlier life. The sense of fun and freedom and not having to be anywhere or do anything. The evil parents never stayed so I was alone with the relatives I loved.

Today, (though I had been invited yesterday and was too busy and tired) I went after I had cooled down a bit from work and picking up my kiddo. My oldest daughter drove. I had so much fun. We went swimming and we ate and I played with twin three year olds. The children were in the water until almost 10:00. I made them all put life jackets on because of the dark. It was as joyous as could be and brought back nice memories for a change. I had to remind my friends that this is the stuff kids make their memories out of and how cool it was to see everyone enjoying a simple hot evening with a very warm lake and lots of playmates.

Makes me miss my cousins. My 5 year old had a ball. She conked out quickly. Good stuff.

5 year old is here to stay. She was up a lot last night with earache and my daughter's "new", soon to be gone, dog barking all night. Long story. It really was loads and loads of fun. The best part was seeing the kids all in the water late at night and having such a good time.
