(1) Do you agree, entirely, or somewhat?
(2) In the news lately we have heard of all the reports of crooks running the hospitals of the VA (Veterans Administration). These crooks have done crooked things that have caused veterans to die. These crooks have retaliated severely against whistleblowers.
(3) From what I can see, lots of state gov't agencies are dominated by crooked people who don't care about the people they are supposed to serve and help, but operate the agencies cynically and with lies and deceptions in order to benefit themselves and their fellow crooks in the agencies.
(4) In many movies, we see the Southern small town sheriff who is crooked and is a criminal himself and is partnered up with various criminals in and outside of government. I think this is a very real phenomenon, and that this phenomenon goes on in gov't social service agencies, and also in non-gov't non-profit social service agencies.
(5) I agree that most people in the world are not crooked. But as you go higher up the "hierarchy" in gov't and non-profit agencies, there is a lot of deliberate and ongoing crooked-ness, I think.
(6) I should add that these "crooks" don't think of themselves as crooks. They think of themselves as normal, everyday people. They became employed at these places and found that this is just the way things are done, so, to survive, and thrive, they went along with the flow. In some cases, just to keep working at an agency, you must go along with the rule-breaking and conspiring just to keep working there. So, I have sympathy for these people. Also, I should add that these people who do all the rule-breaking and the conspiring do do plenty of good for people. They do do their jobs correctly much of the time. They aren't totally bad. If you think about the TV character Tony Soprano, and the movie character Michael Corleone, you will recall that these characters weren't all bad. That's how these people in these agencies see themselves: as "goodfellas." A few of them are full-on sociopaths--but most are not. We saw a sociopath type in the movie "No Country for Old Men." But most are not like that. Most are just "taking care of business."
(7) Also, I don't want to do anything about these rule-breaking, conspiring workers in gov't agencies and non-profit agencies. I just take it for granted that this is how the world is. I believe human nature is the same everywhere in the world, and can't be changed. To me, it is just good to see and understand that this is how the world is. I don't have any interest in fighting against it. I don't want to be a crusader. I don't want revenge. Revenge is a waste of time. Revenge is for losers. I just want to see things and people and institutions as they really are. I just want to stop being so naive.

There is absolutely corruption in some government agency. I do not believe that can be argued.

And I do believe there is (consciously or subconsciously) motivation to simply "secure" their jobs. They are bureaucrats - they want to keep their jobs. So, you are just fodder for their ultimate goal - staying employed.

If you get help or not does not matter..... In fact - if you do not get help - that will increase the number of people "needing" help - thus securing their job even more!

I liked your answer. You explained things better than I did.
Thanks for this!
