i started a thread a few days ago about relaxation methods, and by doing that i stumbled upon a fantastic meditation technique from a website (health journeys) and i payed for, and downloaded a "well-being" mp3 meditation file, and whilst listening to it i started thinkin of a friend of mine from work...he is suffering from cancer and is quite unwell. well when i was listening to this tape, i suddenly got thinking that i should mention it to Paul (the cancer - sufferer) and let him listen to it and see if he thinks it helps him. its worth a shot surely. what do you think, do you think i should tell him about it and give it to him for him to listen to? i will do a poll on it, but feel free to comment on it too.
thanks, and speak soon |

I know it's intimating to talk to a cancer patient about cancer, or any type of helping methods for their cancer, but I remember when my Grandmother was terminally ill, she appreciated all the suggestions, books, movies, and prayers people sent her. I recommend giving it a shot, he may be very thankful.

It sure cannnot hurt and the body and when the mind are relaxed it can only help ones immune system. People who have an illness do not always want others to isolate them in silence on the subject so I think its a great idea

I say go for it. relaxation techniques can help anyone open to the idea and if you look in the archives on health journeys you will find a sample specifically for cancer survivors. Its really cool.

I think it's a great idea to share this meditation with Paul. I think the mind has everything to do with how the body responds. I also think you are a great friend for thinking of him and wanting to share this with him.

If you're planning on copying the file, make sure it's not copyrighted first, or that they give you permission to make copies. If they make you pay to download it, chances are, it's illegal to copy it, even for a friend with cancer.

yea thats what i was thinking. so i thought what id do is give him my versions of it for a few weeks (without copying it) and see if he feels it helps him, and if after 3 or 4 weeks he finds it is helping him, he can purchase his own from the site. thats aloud isnt it? i hope so...

Check the terms for that site. IIRC, if you bought a membership at Health Journeys, I think that includes sharing a limited number of files with your friends. But I might be thinking of a different one, so just look into it and see.
I always think you should listen to those thoughts that come to you like that. They could be important, but not always in the way you think. Rap

I would say go for it, what can it hurt? It can only help him. If he doesn't like it he can always stop.

He can't choose until you give him the choice. Lay it on him. Let him decide. I would be dead without meditation. personally, um, myself.
