What a great thread to get to know the people here.....this is a great idea. I enjoy reading & meeting everyone that is posting here....you all are great.

As for me, I am 53 years old. I graduated from Highschool in 1970. I got my AA degree in music where I majored in my flute playing. I played my flute from the time I was in junior high. I enjoyed playing in the marching band & in the school orchestra along with playing in the local youth orchestra. When I transferred to the 4 year university, I decided that I didn't want to be a music teacher & wanted a career that could earn more money than that. I changed to computer science & graduated with my BS in 1978. I met my husband in one of our computer classes.....so we defined that class as our computer dating class. We were married in 1975 & are still married (even though it has been a rough 31 years). He got a job soon after graduation as a computer engineer & was sent to Roma Italy. I took a semester off school & tagged along.....I got to see Italy with expenses paid by the company he worked for. We have one daughter that is now grown & working on what she is going to be when she grows up. She was born 10 months before I graduated from college which was quite a challenge for me. Luckily she was born just before spring break so I didn't have to take much time off of school. I had my computer engineering job all lined up when I graduated & just went from going to school to working with only Christmas break between. I worked in an all guys career.....& the guys were great to work with. I spent most of my lunch breaks playing racquettball with them. That was a great way to keep myself in good condition....much more fun than just working out. Of course, racquettball was rough on my knees. I tore the anterior curciate ligament in one & the menuscus in the other. I had to have one knee reconstructed & the other was a simple fix. We spent our vacations in our time share condo in Jackson Hole Wyo, skiing. We taught our daughter to skii when she was 2 1/2 & she was the star skiier in Jackson. She even got her photo on the ski school flyer. She was doing the advanced slopes when I only had guts enough to do the intermediate ones. We enjoyed traveling on our vacations & a few times traded our condo for other locations. We did alot of fun things while we both had our careers. Besides the downhill skiing, we did dog sledding, ski mobiling into Yellowstone, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, & hot air ballooning. Besides that, we enjoyed backpacking into the Sierra's. I attempted to get to the top of Mt Whitney several times, but altitude sickness got the best of me every time. Our daughter went along on the backpacks too. The first time was when she was just 5 months old. I had a pack for her that I could use on the front to balance out my backpack on my back. We did some of our backpacking with the church group. We also did some camping with the girl scout group my daughter was involved in when my husband became the co-leader of the group. For my crafty side, I started a huge tapestry (I still haven't finished), & several latch hooks (haven't finished them either).

About 12 1/2 years ago, things went bad with my career. I hated where I ended up & when I tried to transfer back into a technical position, the director refused to let me transfer. I ended up out of work on medical leave of absense. I had no idea what was happening to me at the time. My medical insurance forced me to go to a psychiatrist & psychologist. They couldn't figure out a Dx either but it turned out to be horrible anxiety attacks which after a year went into depression (when I realized that I no longer could go back to my career). I attempted a workman's comp case against them, but lost that too. Looking back, the best part of the whole situation was that they told me to get involved with something I always loved to do. I was keeping up my flute playing & was already involved in a local flute orchestra.....that was when I realized that I had always wanted a horse & had enjoyed my english dressage riding classes I took as a college PE class. I found a dressage riding trainer that was close to where I live. As I got involved with that, she found a horse for me to buy. I started doing the dressage & when I bought my first horse, I started showing dressage. Not only was she a horse trainer, but she also had american eskimo dogs & had a new litter of puppies that I fell in love with. Not only had I never owned a horse....I never had a dog either. I fell in love with one of the puppies & my husband (who has asthma, tried holding the little guy & no asthma problems). He became my first american eskimo dog. She was also into showing her dogs. She worked with me on training him & also how to show him. That was when horses & dogs became a huge part of my life. I did quite a bit of conformation showing & then got into obedience. I actually got his champion title & also his obedience title. During that time, I was also in & out of the psych hospital but was going to dog shows & horse shows every weekend I was home. During that time, I also ended up with some anorexia problems which was a reaction to several of the meds. Every bad reaction to a med that was possible, I ended up with, so was in the hospital everytime they wanted to change a med. I ended up getting another female eskie for my birthday & started breeding them. It was great having puppies of our own but trying to find good homes was a challenge. I also purchased a mare & tried to start breeding my horse. All my life, I had never had a headache.....then after the AD's that caused migraines, I ended up with continuous migraines. I was in & out of the ER for demoral shots every 3 days & got to the point where I couldn't even get out of bed. They found that I needed a neck fusion from a horse accident I had back in college. That didn't help at all. I finally found a pain specialist that is willing to treat me with the only med that has helped & I have been on that treatment for the last 3 1/2 years (no migraines since then). At that point, I could finally start living again & got back into my dressage training & breeding my mare (I now have the most awsome filly I could have ever dreamed of). I was feeling so much better that I decided to go back to college & take courses in interior design. I enjoy that kind of work & thought that it might be something I could do for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, during that time, my Mother was Dx'ed with cancer & that situation ended up causing a horrible trauma I lived through. I was so exhausted that I ended up in the medical hospital because I couldn't eat food without getting sick. It was at that point when my Mother died. Every Dr insisted that I be treated for anorexia until I was able to explain what symptoms I was experiencing. That was when they realized it was the trauma that was the cause.

Good things do come from bad.....I am selling her home & purchasing a farm in Kentucky where my 12 dogs, my 3 + horses, & my husband will retire to. I am so looking forward to having my horses right at my own home & having all the time I have been wanting to spend working with a trainer on my dressage riding. I will finally be able to do all the things I have been wanting to do & once I am away from where everything happened, I will be able to sit back & enjoy my life. It is wonderful being able to look forward to a future I have always dreamed of.....doing the things I love to do & having time to spend enjoying & playing with my eskies.

Sorry for a boring account of my 3D.....but this is me,
Debbie

i do wife and mommy stuff. i'm happy doing that stuff.

what else do i do? i love to learn stuff. currently, i'm learning computer graphics and web design. i'm an artist, but tending to a small child prevents me from pulling out the big art projects. computer art is child-proof. i'm into photography, too.

when i'm stuck breastfeeding, i research stuff online, post messages on bulletin boards, or play computer chess.

my biggest daily challenge is managing or reducing my dissociation symptoms. i do a lot of grounding stuff.

I'm not married and I don't have any children.
I wake up about 6:30-7am, I'm self employed- I work early mornings to afternoons.
Afternoons to late afternoons, I run errands, take care of bills, I take my puppies out to the park, sunbathe, play video games, I'm on PC, I watch tv to unwind, clean house/cook and take care of any loose ends with clients.
Late afternoons to evening I'm probably reading the paper, a book or a magazine, I'm on PC, taking care of my plants inside the house and out in the back yard, daydreaming/napping, talking on the phone, I'll play guitar or paint, then I'll be online with my computer doing searches or shopping for whatever I may need to.
In the evening to night, I'm watching tv on the couch or in bed with my dogs, I'll write in my journal or I'll write poetry, doing girlie stuff (my nails or hair, moisterizing, etc...) then I'll go to bed about 10:30.
On the weekends the dogs and I go to the doggie park for a couple of hours to socialize, run errands, I'll go shopping around town, visit family or friends, clean/fix up my house, once in awhile I'll have a date.
That's it. What do you DO in your real lifeor 3D life?

1. I take care of my daughter who is a beautiful, brilliant, hale and hearty soon to be 9 year old girl.

2. I take care of my daughter.

3. I take care of my daughter

4. I take care of my daughter

5. I take care of my daughter

6. I rest from taking care of my daughter as it stretches me to the limits of my very limited physical and emotional capabilities.

7. I watch TV: Law and Order, House, ER, Sixty Minutes, Monk and Psych. Also love 30's, and 40's old movies on TCM.

8. Two nights a week, maybe, I cook. My husband probably cooks 3 nights a week. I do laundry and redo the laundry my husband did. I make the beds and strip them and keep repeatedly injuring my back on this and many other household tasks. I have to use the riding carts to grocery shop or shop at Walmart. I take my daughter to gymnastics, dance, and swimming class. If I in a period of depression, my husband takes over with my daughter. He got her off to school 90% of the time the past year. I do her homework with her. My daughter and I lunch at the mall and walk around it about every two weeks. Window shopping. Usually I can't walk for 2 days after we do this, but it is fun to be two girls. I taught my daughter to swim but now am taking her to lessons because she does better when someone else teaches her first and I reinforce. She told me she wants me to be a sports mom!?! She wants me to really push her in either gymnastics or dance or swimming--but I am not quite sure what she means. I think she means that when my depressions resurge, she feels invisible and she is trying to lock in my attention.

9. I am teaching my daughter to clean house. This one of those situations of "those who can't teach, lol." She is very enthusiastic.

10. I have been focusing a lot lately on how my husband and I have very little time together. On weekends he works third shift and it messes him up. My depressions cause me to really fold in on myself. We are older, low energy parents, hopefully more wise, but I don't know. Both of us are relationship challenged.

11. Last month I added PC to the one other website I visit. It has been wonderful, it has given me a lot of pause, and stirred up feelings, which is good for me. I would prefer not to have any, but that wasn't working for me as the saying goes.

I'm a mother of 3 children. One 7 year old boy, and two girls ages 4 (will be 5 in a few days!) and 3. I have a wonderful supportive husband that I absolutely adore.. I've been married for 7 years.

I spend my days mostly taking care of my kids. My 3 year old daughter recently started pre-school, and my other 2 kids will be going to school in a few days, so I don't know what I am going to do with my free time just yet! I've thought about going back to work.

With the free time I do have right now (which isn't much!) I like to work with computer programs such as PaintShop Pro and Animation Shop. I also spend my free time here at PC! I like to take my kids to parks and spend time with them.

My normal day consists of cleaning the house, cooking, taking care of my kids, doing errands and spending time here. What do you DO in your real lifeor 3D life?

I'm a Massage Therapist so I pretty much make my own hours. I do outcalls (mainly to people I already know, or their family members/friends). I will be starting classes again in a few months, since there are certain areas I want to specialize in. I have been offered a job working for someone, but I'm not sure how that's going to turn out just yet.

I spend as much time with my family as I can, which includes my fiance' and his family. My fiance' and I love to do all sorts of things, we don't really hang out in bars,(only on occasion) but we love going to movies and out to dinner.

I also need my "alone" time, which means you will usually find me here at PC when I'm at home and relaxing. I also love to spend time in bookstores and can spend hours in antique stores and thrift shops. I also love reading!

First thing I want to say is what a wonderful tread. I see everyones user names and you all don't seem like stranges now.

I'm 33 and married to my high school sweet heart for almost 17 years now. My husband is 4 days older then I am. I'm a social worker with a BSW and a minor in Psych. I work with homebound elderly and lead caregiver support groups. I also work with grandparents raising grandchildren. I'm supporting my husband while he attends college full time getting his degree in TV production. We have 4 wonderful cats. Right now we are completely remodeling our dream home. I spend hours in home improvement stores. What do you DO in your real lifeor 3D life?

In my job I spend a lot of time training social work interns from the local university. One of my favorite interns was sent off to Iraq. So I spend time emailing her and sending care packages to her since she doesn't have much family support.

I watch a lot of TV, Rockstar Supernova and Project Runway are my favorites to watch. I don't have really any IRL friends I do things with. Never have. I hate shopping, think that's from the years I worked at Wal-Mart while in college.

I raised my brother when we both were young. Parents were to strung out on drugs to care for us. So my brother is my baby. This past year he's been battleing cancer. So been very hard on us both. So I try and spend time with him. I broke my ankle at his BBQ on the 4th of July. So I've been limited in things of late. But go back to the Ortho doc next week. Hoping to get my boot off then. So my foot is up in the air with what they will be doing next to it.

I'm married to four wonderful husbands, who help me raise our 23 kids. We have 16 girls and seven boys. All the kids have jobs to do, so I don't have to work. The little ones clean and pick up trash, the middle ones do slightly harder work, like laundry, and help the older ones raise the two babies. The older ones also have jobs outside the house and one is just starting college as well. The ones with jobs outside our home pay me 60% of their salaries for rent, plus another 15% for food and utilities. I watch TV and shop at malls all day.

I'm an unemployed reporter, and really miserable about it. I help Doc around PC some, though all "behind the scenes" stuff, which is fine by me. Basically, since spending 5 weeks in the "physical" (as opposed to mental) hospital over the winter, I have no life to speak of. It sucks. I hate feeling useless and unproductive.

I have an 18 year old son whom I relinquished for adoption as an infant. His adoptive mom tracked me down a couple of years ago and we have all started building relationships, which is a big load off my mind and heart.

That's about it. I'm boring, what can I say.

I am disabled but am going back to school so I can get off disablity and go back to work. I am not on disablity willingly it more like out of necessity.
I have a kind of boyfriend whom I saw last night...he came over for dinner. I love to cook and invent recipes. Now that I have all the cable channels and I can watch The Food Network I am in heaven. I also just moved into a new apartment and am having fun setting it up. Finally all the boxes are gone and I can put up the pictures. I am having an open house on the 20th and need to have it all done by then.
My major in school is Administrative Assistant. I go to Northwest Technical Institute its a trade school. I like it a lot and found out that my favorite teacher will be teaching my least favorite class so maybe I can get through it better.

My turn...

I am female, 56, single, living in Southern California (hating it) and I am a writer -- of anything anyone will pay me to write. I make a living as a technical writer but I also have scripts, books (all sorts, fiction & non), poetry (over 500), short stories, newspaper & magazine articles, etc. I had an acting career for 14 years. It ended when I had 3 sexual harassment lawsuits What do you DO in your real lifeor 3D life? (I was blacklisted after that - it was in all the papers!). I also have a Certificate in graphic design, have been a freelance photographer, DJ, etc. I've had more different lines of work than any dozen people you know, put together. You name it, I've done it.

I like to craft, take care of my 2 cats (My Little Destructo Squad, as I call them), eat out, read, garden, take classes, do graphics on the computer, & take long hot baths (with music, incense, wine, candles, etc). I LOVE snow What do you DO in your real lifeor 3D life?, photography, New England, Britcoms, chocolate, yoga and being single. (Men have been problems, in my life, so I gave up on them. Never regretted it) I drive up into the mountains whenever I can. (I love the scenery, the peace and the snow, in winter) I was in Mensa, Daughters of the British Empire, STC (Society for Technical Communication), Women In Film, Women In Animation, RWA (Romance Writers of America), and various other groups. I gave tours through historic properties, for years, as a docent (not that there are many in California).

I have been into metaphysical things since forever. I need to lose weight (again), stop fretting & being angry (worrying about the future), and get back into therapy. I desperately want to move out of California - to the east and north (I mentioned that, didn't I? It bears repeating!). I miss the change of seasons a LOT. What do you DO in your real lifeor 3D life? I want my own house and some sort of business that will support me anywhere I choose to live, but haven't been able to figure out what kind of business to start. What do you DO in your real lifeor 3D life? I feel very lost.

The only family I have now are distant cousins in distant places, and only one keeps in touch, occasionally. My best friend & "second mother" is in her 80's.

Worrying about the future, getting out of here, and thinking about how much I hate it here is how I spend most of my time, I'm afraid. I need to GET A LIFE!!! What do you DO in your real lifeor 3D life? What do you DO in your real lifeor 3D life?

I'm 57, married 30 yrs. hubby and I met at a mental health agency where the staff told us it would only last 6 months hahaha I guess we showed them, I'm Bi-Polar , anxiety, DID, he's Panic/Anxiety, OCD, we have had our ups and downs and still respect each other. Lost 2 babies , many years ago, hubby and I run a mental health self-help support group, training ppl to operate a small craft and bakery shop (holiday baking)
am able to keep my sanity only by being a member here at PC.
