Do you have any good time management tips?

I have a list of "TO DOs" . . . some listed on paper and some still stuck in my head. I have a 6-months-old baby whom is my priority. I'm having difficulty prioritizing the non-baby stuff on my list.

One thing I need to do is our taxes. For some reason, my hubby and I just can't seem to submit our paperwork for our REFUND. How stupid is that? For 5 months now, Uncle Sam has been collecting our daily interest. I don't think we are that busy.

Another thing is the baby's room. It's halfway completed and has become a junk-piling room. Gasp!

There's many, many other stuff on my list, a lot of small things to big things like preparing for my future.

I know I can do all the things I want to do, I just need some advice. Got any?

Hi Jennie,

Get it all down on paper. Then on a second paper, prioritize it. Then on a third paper, break it down into things to do each day. Things are a lot more managable and not nearly so overwhelming if their broken down into small parts.

<font color="blue">I agree with writing everything down. OR if you can use your computer to keep track, do that. Not feeling like you have to keep every thought inside your head helps to feel less stress, imo.

Make note on those things that are most important. I use arrows and asterisks to denote those. If I tried to write things down in order of importance, or make a master list then break it down into smaller or into order of importance, I would get lost in the process! So instead I put arrows in front of those items I really need to try and accomplish first.

Time management is an important aspect of life...for most all of life. (Though I relish the Native Indian's and Mexican's ability to overlook the clock.)

Try putting things into BLOCKS of time first...rather than micromanaging hour by hour etc. Do you need to run errands? Then note those items you can do while out..and create a block of time to do them. Keep your list with you all the time.

Sometimes my stress level interferes with my remembering. I have PT 3 days a week.. but I can't focus on that. Once I wake in the morning I determine what day it is...and from that create the point in time when I MUST leave the house "by" and forget all the stuff after that fact... until I'm in the car on my way. THEN I might also be able to figure in other errands after PT. Time Management ***HELP***

I find ppl can waste much time on the telephone or computer. Good time management includes being able to end a conversation in a timely manner. Don't be afraid to say, Hey, I have to go now..good talking to you! Cell phones come with timer beeps for a reason Time Management ***HELP***

I forgot to add that I make my lists the night before for what I have to do tomorrow. If I didn't get something done today, I just scoot it to tomorrow's list. It helps and it's oh so wonderful to cross things off my list when I've done them. You get a feeling a real achievement. Time Management ***HELP***
