I feel depressed, Hell, there has been enough going on to cause that in it's own right. But my pain from bone spur and rotator cuff is returning and I am scared to death and feel so darned powerless. I have spent my week feeling that I have a full time job casemanaging the crisis of my children and coordination services. I am down. I am scared, I am trying to just think healthy and be well. I am also waiting to get more up to date info before pressing the panic button on my diagnoses of progressive arthritis. Crap, too young for that. I refuse.

Sorry you aren't feeling well.Perhaps a nice warm soak in epsom salt with lavender would be a nice treat to a tired, achy person....

Sometimes when we give so much of ourselves, it is easy to forget to give back to ourselves and then our bodies suffer for it.

Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you. I am going to get in to see my doc tomorrow come hell or high water and do a pain management plan and perhaps a change in depression meds. The hospital E.Rs can't help and after the pain is to the unmanageable point it is like starting over so I am asking very specifically for an abc plan with scripts filled and no chance of it getting ahead of me. Worst pain I have known.

Saw doc's husband today. and the P.T. It seems I may have pulled an early alarm as my pain is manageble and the worst spot is actually a good sign that a muscle is working to strengthen. P.T. was encouraging. Thanks everyone Picked up college daughter for the weekend and she seems better. Watched the girls shop at the health food store and plan dinner. Lost my daughter's car keys for a while as I was at a different store doing different errands and dropped the keys. I had to walk through the store twice before I found them.

Remember the saying, "of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most" I miss my mind. For example had samples of medication today and got upset when I couldn't find in car with scripts and other things and just found them put away with my meds!!! No memory of doing that.

Breathe. Remember to breathe. Also, take notes when you can't remember things. Sticky notes are your friends! I am not well

Hugs,

Jan

WW, I'm glad to hear you're feeling a *little* better, anyway. If you figure out what to do about the brain fog, though, would you let me know? I saw a new doc yesterday and mentioned my recent shopping trip, where I came home with *two* packages of socks -- I needed one, but I didn't know the other existed till I took them out of the bag at home. No memory whatever of putting them in the cart, paying for them, etc, but the receipt says I paid for them.

I dunno. This one listened to me, anyway, and didn't come right out and say he wouldn't do anything about it -- I suppose that's a step in the right direction! Hope you find docs to listen to you too. They seem to be a rare breed.

Hang in there.

Love, Candy

Thanks a lot Candy and Kath, I know a lot is due to meds and there is not much I can do about that. I have tolerated celebrex for 2 days now and only had to take narcotic stuff onece yesterday and once today. My arm had quite a work out today so I am hoping it will be okay. Silly long stories but daughter had problem with front tires, took other daughter's car, we had to get tires fixed but couldn't find car keys anywhere and she didn't know where they were. (she has no idea that I late today picked up another key from my friend who sold her the car. Anyway, it meant I was driving the wagon that is a standard and needs servicing as it shifts hard. Truck which an auto is in shop and I don't have the money to bail it out anytime soon. Another story, daughter took it on a 120 mile trip and the next day I get in and no brakes. All of the rear including the cylinders needed replacement and she told me she hadn't noticed anything odd, including brake lights!!!!!

I have some pain now but no big deal it's just that I worry about it getting unmanageable. Hubby has this fairly normal growth on his eye that needs to be "shave" occasionally and tonight it got irritated and he is in pain so a patch and some lidocaine and a conversation with his eye doc who was away on vacation and called. All we can do is patch and have it laser shaved tues. Lidocaine 3 times daily. Painful.

So I gave the little one her bath and I can't hold my right arm up much so I can't do all of the braids or other designs that would control her wonderful hair. Her skin has been really dry and I put olive oil, baby oil, mineral oil and coco butter in the bath. Wish I had the arm strength to now clean the tub. Her skin is great tonight and so is she. How did I fall in love with a stranger so instantly? She is my child and I would walk across fire for her. AND! she is not an easy kid either. But she is in my heart and I love her. I think she has a lot to do with this flare up of arthritis and spurs etc as she wants to be carried and she is just so big to do that.
We do lots of cuddling.

Ocd daughter has steralized her room and admitted to her when I asked her to get me the skin creme that she was ritualizing and did not want to stop the routine. I really wish I could hook up two washers and dryers!!!!!!!!!

All more then you asked. Pain is good today. So far so I don't jinx it.

I feel lucky to be relatively pain free and to have such a wonderful family. High maintainence that they are.

Thanks for reading and caring. Peace.

Hi, wisewoman --

I can't help you with some of what you mention, but I can talk about your health issues.

I, too, have a bone spur (on my heel) and bursitis (a rotator cuff injury) in my shoulder. If you've never tried acupuncture, it helped me SOOOO much, SOOOO quickly. Literally -- I'm not exaggerating, now -- the first appointment with an acupuncturist for my bursitis, and it was 60% better the next day. I'm not kidding. That was a couple of years ago. But now, it's 99.9% better. As for the bone spur, I went to my chiropractor. A few sessions and it's MUCH better. Not totally healed, but I went to the acupuncturist, too, about that. Between the two of them, and a little device I saw in a catalog (that you put on your foot at night and it holds your big toe back, allowing the muscle on the bottom of the foot to heal), I feel like it'll be fine, eventually.

As for arthritis, I had real stiffness in both hands, years ago. I had read a book about becoming a vegan (giving up meat, dairy & eggs, basically). It seemed like a lot to give up, but pain is a powerful motivator. I became a vegan and my pain disappeared within a week. Really! Doctors will tell you there's no cure. But MUCH can be done, nutritionally, to help. Go up on www.garynull.com. He's probably the top nutritionist in the country. He can help with pretty much anything.

I know what it's like to feel helpless. I feel that way altogether too much of the time. But, if you can get your health a little more under control, it makes you feel less helpless.

Good luck I am not well

I can't help with much, but I can pass along a tip that SeptMorn taught me when I had to start wearing my brace.

Go buy a sponge mop. I bought a "Mr. Clean" brand because it has a scrubber strip on one edge and is bigger than most. Buy some "Scrubbing Bubbles" tub cleaner. Run some water in the shower for a bit and then spray shower, tub and fixtures and let it set for a little bit. Then take the mop, dampen it and scrub the shower and tub. Just turn the water on in the tub and use the mop to rinse. It doesn't hurt at all and it works great.

I hope this helps.

Hugs,

Jan

Cool tips ladies, thanks. I am a vegetarian but do eat dairy and eggs. I could easily give up both so it's worth a try. Why not?

Remember stress can affect your memory.

Hope we're both feeling better soon.

No giving up. Increased nerve pain in right arm. So lovely. Daughter in OCD crisis, more lovely still. Daughter whose work place is harming her emotionally, owner doesn't know the crap the kids play on her. She wants to get done. OUCH shoulder. Overuse today. I am hanging, just want whatever normal is supposed to be.
